I'm sure someone has done it before but the search engine threw nothing up for me on the first 5 pages of results.

Given Super Champ bodies are rather thin on the ground, has anyone modded a Rough Rider/Buggy Champ one ?

Failing that does anyone have any high res photos or dimensions for each shell to compare (side pod lengths etc etc ).

Many thanks

I did a quick search on each car, and noted a few differences:

-The Rough Rider/Buggy Champ has a rear roof section (the fastback), whereas the Super Champ has a cut-out running the length of the car from the cockpit opening up front to the end of the car

-The Super Champ has a rear spoiler molded in the body; the Rough Rider/Buggy Champ does not

-Where the metal roll bar of the chassis is, the Super Champ has an angular protrusion on each side, whereas the Rough Rider/Buggy Champ does not

-The Super Champ has molded vent details on the side pods; the Rough Rider/Buggy Champ does not

The body shells look almost the same from the front of the cockpit opening down to the nose of the shell, but from the front of the cockpit opening to the rear of the shell the Super Champ has less roof plastic. However, from what I can see the Super Champ body's nose is slightly longer and more aggressively-sloped.

I cannot find a good image of either buggy, though perhaps a number could be found in the showrooms. If the Super Champ chassis turns out to be longer than the SRB platform, there would be some minor sectioning to go along with removing the roof portion of the chassis, not to mention sourcing plastic for additional roll bars and the roof. Other than that, it should be a fairly-straightforward if not a terribly-easy job.

These are just my observations and guesses. Good luck with the project!

Thanks for your observations, very much where I'd got to plus the top of the bonnet in front of the 'windscreen' is different.. The side pods have different shape at the front and the SC ones are about 5mm longer from what I can tell from the diagrams in the respective manuals.
