Looking For Blackfoot Shock Suggestions

Hi,

I'd like to replace the friction springs on my original Blackfoot with oil filled units, but I don't particularly want a set of the yellow Tamiya shocks. What other shocks have you guys had good luck with and that will bolt on without any modifications? Thank you for the suggestions.

Hey, I just started R/C and I asked a few other places and I came up with Traxxis E-Maxx shocks. They are 4" oil filled shocks. I got 8 of them on ebay for less than $25 incl shipping. Havent put them on yet but I will be soon.

I think the black plastic Tamiya C.V.A. II shocks should fit, they're available in many different sizes and are adjustable. They may not be the cheapest plastic shocks, but I found them to be quite reliable.

i have them on my bush devil, work very well (you can see them work over rough ground) and even over the years i have used it they have not leaked.

Why not keep true and fit monster beetle shocks, thats what i fitted on my restored blackfoot, i could have fitted new shiny ones but prefered to keep with period parts.

I fitted some 1/8th buggy shocks from blacksmithproducts to my king Blackfoot. If truth be told they only just fit due to the diameter and the springs are a bit too stiff but with the soft and deep sidewalk if the Tyres it still runs fine. I think they only cost me about a tenner for the set of four with springs. There's some pics in my showroom.

You may be able to get s set of used monster beetle shocks for £10 on eBay which might be s better option though. I have traxxas shocks on my clod conversion, great shocks but they ate designed for beaver vehicles than a Blackfoot.
