was there ever a carbon prop shaft made by Tamiya (or any other make) made for the top force? Just trying to mod mine and that steel one is crying out to be changed. Seems like a good mod idea to me.

I'm sure Tamiya made a hardened one. I think they also made a stainless steel one, or maybe it's the same thing, but I'm not sure about a carbon one.

I think the hardened one is the one with flat pressed ends rather than loops bent into it. Does your Top-Force have that already? I know my Terra Conqueror does.

The "53079 Manta Ray Stainless Steel Propeller Shaft" (official Tamiya description) is the improved propeller shaft for all TA01, DF01 (all Manta Ray series buggies) and the Hummer. And yes Bibbo, it was included with the Top Force (and Evo) too. After ball bearings, the by far most important hop-up for these cars.

The "53152 4WD Touring & Rally Car Short Type Hard Propeller Shaft" is a little shorter than 53079 and fits all TA02 (including TA02W and TA02SW) and the racing pickups (TA01/02 mix with TA02 tub).

Both shafts include improved "all metal" joint cups as well.

For the records, Tamiya never sold carbon shafts for these cars.
