I'am at the stage where i'am thinking about ordering the electrics . I was considering a Castle motor and ESC but when i factor in the shipping costs + import duty it looks expensive . I've found these from a uk supplier. Has anyone fitted one and if so whats your opinion as to quality and performance ?Etronix Photon 1/10 Brushless ESC & Motor Combo 9.0RET0400 SPECIFICATIONS:

ESC Specs:

• Input: NiMH 6 cells & LiPO 2-3 cells & LiFe 2-3 cells

• Output: Max 360 Watt, 54A at 54°C, 45A at 75°C, Peak 240A

• Motor support: KV < 4500KV, 1:10 scale car

• BEC: 5V / 2A

• Net weight: 72g

• Dimension: 48x33x29mm

Motor Specs:

• 9.0R 4370KV

• Max Amps: 48

• Resistance: 0.0125

• I0(A): 2

• Shaft: 3.17mm

• Weight: 172g

Everything will be based around the motor and ESC i decide on so any advice will be appriciated . Is this too much power for a SRB ?

well you won't be short on power for sure i don't have a Etronix Photon Sensorless ESC but if it has the punch control like the Castle ESC's have it won't be a problem. There is no such thing as too much power! :D

by the way the Funco looks great so far can't wait to see it all finished.

The punch is adjustable via a programing card so i should be ok . Its not as high end as the Castle but it will more then do the job :)

Etronix is great. I've got one in my Stadium Blunder! Theres no such thing as too much POWER!! I also considered Castle Creatations combos, but for me they are waaaay to expensive!! The Etronix may be cheap, but is great, durable and built well.

Oh, and loving the body and driver!! Its brilliant!,

I like the nets as I see them. I'd have to see a whole car shot from different angles to see if it's too much.

You could always cut the net to not cover the entire area on the sides. Just like a catch net.

Really looking good though, should "pop" in the sunshine!

I much prefer the MK2 nets to the MK1s!! They look more scale. Also just noticed your headlamps, they are AWSOME!!! How'd you make the nets?!

The nets are just cheap cooking tray nets bought from a home goods store . £1 a go ;) . They make enough for about 6 pairs of nets . I have to give credit to Percymon for the idea .

I had to search on the site, it wasn't obvious (i have known them to disappear for a bit, maybe due to no stock)

Thanks but IMO their far too expensive unless your a serious racer . I'll be fitting the Etronix Photon 1/10 Brushless ESC & Motor Combo 9.0RET0400 i think . Its 9.0R 4370KV and maybe a bit extreme for me but i think it will be ok if i turn the punch down .

always keep your eyes open when out shopping with the other half ! - she thinks you're interested in the weekly shop, but unbeknown to her you're really looking for RC parts :D

Just arrived in the post . I was a bit worried about the quality of these . HK seller i'd never heard of before . However i have to say that i'am impressed . Quality and fit is excellent and i think the plain and simple style suits the funco really well .
