I have a basic TL-01 chassis on route to me (i know, i know I just sold the undriven TL-01 Stadium Raider !) - i bought this chassis as a quick , easy project with the intentions of buying a cheap prepainted shell, bang on some wheels and sell it on ebay ahead of Xmas.

I doubt that'll happen now, so here's my parts list / ideas so far..

Available parts

TL-01 chassis complete with kit shocks, springs, body posts and silver can motor

a set of blue anodized 60mm shocks, with what appear to be very hard springs - manufacturer unknown

two spare sets of 3racing 55mm shock springs (soft and medium from recollection)

Tamiya Boxster wheels n treaded road tyres

Tamiya black chrome (silver rim) spoked rims with road tyres

White 5 spoke rally style wheels with Kyosho rally block tyres

NIP gold cross spoke BBS wheels (no tyres)

Thoughts on bodies..

prepainted Mazda RX7 / Nissan GTR GT racer type shell - combine with suitable wheels from above list

prepainted BMW Z4 coupe body (GT racing type scheme) - add suitable wheels from above list

prepainted Mustang shell with black chrome wheels

prepainted Evo/Imprezza shell with gold or white rally rims n tyres

Kamtec VW camper shell - combine with Porsche Boxster rims, or the gold BBS ones

Kamtec Dodge Charge - Dukes of Hazard General Lee theme with black chrome wheels

Kamtec Bowler Wildcat - i know its been done several times already but this might be a body that makes me want to run the TL-01 rather than just sell it on - would need at least some tyres to fit the 5 spoke rally tyres or possibly new wheels and tyres

I've also considered the controlfreaks RS200 shell (leaxan or carbon effect) - i know a few people here have used it and seems to be well made/detailed - a little more thn i want to pay, but might stretch to it.

I'm not really looking for a lengthy build, hence the prepainted bodies, and as you may have guessed i'm not looking to spend much more than £15 on a body for this project !

Thoughts / suggestions please !

Oh well, decision made - had to order a Baja shell from Kamtec anyway so thought i might as well get the Bowler one while i was at it !

Didn't someone build a 4WD Wild Willy on a shortened TL01 chassis? That would keep you busy for a while :)

well no lunchie or willy in my collection yet - maybe in the future, but i don;t want a 3 month project (famous last works lol!!)

Chassis arrived today - much better than i expected - few scratches on the bottom, and some minor marks on the 'bumper' but very happy; 10 times better than my usual ebay purchases lol!

Kamtec have despatched the Bowler body too - hopefully it'll come tomorrow as i'm away in Brussels for a few days afterwards.

Near new Toureg wheels n tyres from member Carrera on route too

Plan A, B or C ??

Nah, this will definitely be a Bowler now as i missed out another chassis last night

Will mock this up once the parts all come through

Blue anodized shocks with the softest springs for starters

Toureg wheels + BFGoodrich tyres (may swap the rims out for the 5 spoke rally ones, sprayed gunmetal)

Bowler body, LED lights front n back

Colour scheme not yet decided - silver, or yellow (already in showroom), with black decals. Or perhaps a bit more stealth with gunmetal/black paint and silver striping ?

Power will be the silver can and 19tooth pinion already in the chassis for now, but might swap it over to a TZ perhaps dependent upon how well it performs.

will start a build thread once i have the bits together.
