Hi everyone,

Firstly I would like to give a bit of background information on my post.

I have gone a bit silly on ebay over the last couple of months and have bought six cars (sadly non of them Tamiya) :) The car that started my own personal debt crisis is a RC10 gold pan, It's a real pig, and a money pit, but I have it now so there's no going back. The other five cars I bought have been the result of me looking for parts for this one car on ebay. I know this is the 'TAMIYA CLUB FORUM' and not the miscellaneous rc forum, but being relatively new to the scene I feel most comfortable using this Forum for now. So if it's OK I will ask for your help for this one, and maybe for some other non Tamiya's in the future.

I think this may be an Andy's chassis? Can anybody help identify it.

Thanks for any advise,

Pete

Or A&L (Alec and Lane). The two holes on the extremities outside the rear cell slots would point to mounting points for the Kyosho Scorpion trailing arm conversion that they used to do.

Thanks again B.M.T,

I can see on the steering arms the brand 'HOUGE ENT.' I have never heard of this brand and a very quick Google search looks like they may be a possibility, but I still haven't seen the exact chassis.

Do you know of this brand?

Houge Enterprises was stamped on various bits from the late 80's, early 90's... I am familiar with the name. I can't remember who they were associated with and don't know if they were subcontractors for a brand or sold RC gear under another name. But, it was on American stuff. I think my old Worlds Car graphite had Houge steering too.

houge chassis had holes in the back for trailing arms and the chassis were thick.

i'd guess that one is a composite craft chassis.

Thanks Kaiser,

The chassis is 2.91mm thick, my eyes aren't great but the chassis looks to have five layers of material laminated together. It has holes at the rear and I guess they are for trailing arm suspension.

Some more shots

Thanks,

Peter

i only see one hole per side on the rear section, the houge had two, plus i've never seen a houge with battery slots, are those hand cut or factory?

There are two holes at the rear, just not where you would expect to see them. The battery slots could be hand cut as they are not 'cnc' perfect (although they are pretty close). The holes are either worn or non factory (you should be able to see what I mean in the photo). Disregard the diamond pattern on the chassis, it is just the residue from the protective sticker.

Thanks again,

Peter

not a houge chassis for sure. at least not thier trailing arm chassis. both holes would follow the angled back edge of the chassis.

those holes look hand made.

back in the day i had a houge trailing arm rc10 with the rpm "worlds" front suspension kit, it was amazing on our old school loamy, bumpy tracks.

i miss that car alot and have been keeping my eye out for a houge chassis and arms, they are rare.
