My mate Mario got a Fox Runner the other day so i decided to give mine a re build so we can run together

I really have a soft spot for the Fox as i always wanted one when i was a kid . To me Tamiya got this model pretty right as with shocks, Springs and lay out. Yes the Mono shock front end is limited but works well.

I gave mine a new body/decal treatment with a non box art job Been on my to do list for the past 2 yrs. . Has Trinity rear wheels that came in that color so i dyed a set of Tamiya star wheels to match. Has a moded steering set up , different shock pistons. Custom made upper & lower rear arms from AP Mark. That's all it needs i feel.

Comments welcome. Good or Bad LOL.

Looks orange on my monitor the red should look better in real life. (Kumi thought that it was orange as well)

Not having a go at the pink wheels as the colour looks good with the black body that you have and they should go better with red than a true orange.

Brad i see it looks so different in the pic.

I don't know why as the pic was taken in the day light.

My partner thinks it's awful too LOL.

I like it.

Yes Brad all fun my friend. See you & Kumi at Boondal for our break up meet.

Cheers

Looks red on my screen. :)

The Fox looks odd with the bigger 2.2" buggy wheels when compared to the original 2.0" wheels. With the re-re Hotshot, runner 2.0" rear tyres are easy to come by. The original fronts don't really wear.

where abouts in boondal do you race ? , i might try to get down from mackay with my stocko resto fox and my modenized boomerang and one of the falcons . been awhile since i raced in brizvegas , it was the nationals at jimboomba back in '92-3 ? qualified in the dry , raced in the wet ! .. no one had ever seen a traxxas srt with broken carbon fibre chassis before ! .. :)

There's an offroad track in the Bondall Entertainment Centre grounds (have a look on google maps/earth). There's also a lake there with a RC boating club. Electrics only.

What mods you have to do to get those Trinity rears to fit? Are you using the wheel spacer that the Fox has or just the roll pin?

The rear wheels are Trinity. Got them on a old Fox i bought long time ago from a Boot sale ( Flea Market here LOL) They bolted straight up just using the roll pin. No cracked wheel drives now.Better off sets that give the Fox slighter wider stance too.

I have since bought a set of wheels very close to these that is for the rc10 Championship edition i think. Were quite expensive. Weather the set that i got were made for the rc10 im not really sure. As TA Mark said heaps of 2" wheels now out with the re re coming out and i agree with TA they look better but racing on modern tracks the grip is so much better with new rubber and 2.2" wheels. ( Sydney Tracks at the vintage festival)

Hope to see you one day commiedoor.

Cheers
