Some people were a little concerned that this car was coming back as lexan but the pics so far look good...

...when compared to the original....

The new lexan shell looks a lot closer in detail to the real thing than 58009 ever did IMO.

Edit : I'm talking body lines here, not decals.

It looks a bit too short and a bit too tall. Certainly one to keep an eye on. Think each kit should come with a fake beard.

Seriously though, In spite of not actually seeing one first-hand, I'd say that is better than expected, but still doesn't hold a candle to the injection moulded original. For example, take a look at those headlight buckets... Is that really the best they could do? I hate to think of how they've handled the rear lighting And then there are the sad decals representing a windshield wiper & grille, 'Dunlop' 'Castrol' and 'Bilstein' decals omitted entirely, and worst of all, the driver has been kidnapped!

I'm still gonna buy a couple body sets if I can.

loss of inset front grille is a big minus

as for bearded driver... he got banned by OH&S for being unable to cover flammable facial growth with the nomex balaclava
