Anyonw know what the standard wheel track width is for the TL-01 chassis (tyre centre line to tyre centre line when viewed from front)

I'm trying to figure out what wheel offsets i need for my Bowler project, using a standard TL-01 chassis (no LA or B conversion!!)

and i'm currently 100 miles away from both the chassis and the Bowler shell.

Thanks

Well my TL01, Touring car, is 150 mm. Hope this helps.

Thats great - i thought it was pretty narrow

> perhaps my original plan of +9/+10mm offset wheels isn't the answer to getting a good scale look then !

I assume you're using the Kamtec Bowler shell? I found with a standard Tamiya 1.9 wheel fitted on a standard TL01 chassis, the outer edge of that wheel would be in line with the Bowler bodyshell sides, then the wheel arches extend apx 10mm further. Without any extension the wheelbase does look too narrow. Your idea of extending out 8-10mm wouldnt be too far off but it'll depend a lot on what tyres you're planning to use.

Back home now..

Bowler shell is 208mm from wheel arch edge to edge

TL-01 with Toureg wheels n BFGoodrich tyres is 186mm from outer face of tyre to same on opposite side

In effect 22mm (11mm per side) needed to get the tyre wall in line with the edge of the arch.

+9mm offset wheels would do the job (visually)

I have some Gmade wideners on my R1 buggy, so might see what they look like, but think they are 13mm per side from recollection

I think the HPI classic 5 spokes can be found with +9mm offset, stick on some TG10 wide axles and thicker hexes and they should fill it nicely.

I've bought some black 6 spoke wheels with +9mm offset from eBay. Would have preferred 5 spoke to be truer to bowler but couldn't find black ones that weren't also deep dish.
