It will go up a little bit when the shocks arrive. I will adjust them so the front axles are straight out.

It's quite a transformation from the state 1 photo.

I really need to cut the front left angle better. Will tidy it up when the shocks arrive.

I've just given it a run (without any shocks). It's so stable, it's like totally different car! I think I can switch back to a 13t or a 16t pinion now, as the wheels are much smaller and lighter than before.

To have a low ride Monster Beetle, I would like to suggest you a wider, stronger and more performing chassis like the Blitzer Beetle.

No more Frog frame but excellent and fast car, more modern with many interchangeable parts.

I suppose it would be better to have started with a Blitzer, but I've got what I've got - so need to make that work. I did think about getting another car, but I don't really have room for two cars as well as my son's QD.

Anyhoo - the shocks arrived.

This is bonkers...and I love every last inch of it! Absolutely amazing! I'd been thinking to myself 'how far could you mod a mudblaster' and then found this. Amazing work man, truly amazing work.

Well, believe it or not - the car is still alive, and so is the gearbox. For winter, I've gone back to the monster tyres and extended the shocks a bit to give a bit better off road ability.

My son crashed into the MB with the hand me down QD (now back to stock electrics).

And my latest modification. I've installed lights into the frame. Getting them installed in this location and looking neat, with the suspension all still moving properly is probably the fiddliest thing I've done with the car.
