Tough question, but I think I would keep my Toyota GT-One, despite it being far less usable where I am than my Buggy Champ. The former was my first car and I think it would be neat if I had it around long enough to be able to show it to my kids or nephews and nieces and tell them that it was my first RC car.

I am also infatuated with the real-life car, so maybe it is not as hard a decision to make... though I would miss bashing in the mud, sand, snow and/or rain...

TA01 chassis for me. After buying the chassis new in the early ninties I still like it after all those years. This chassis together with the Tiger Stripe Escort and the Lancia Delta bodies.

The HPI Baja 5B SS! Most awesome RC I own and have ever driven. Makes all the rest seem like toys.

Have to agree there. If it's a non-Tamiya, I'd pick my 5B SS, most fun I've had with my pants on! B)

For a Tamiya, 14 round fight between my Knight Hauler and my King Cab I think...

If I had to whittle everything down to 1 car (hope my wife isn't reading this, it's hypothetical honey,) I think it would have to be my Kyosho Mini, simply because it's one of my original cars, and it got me back into the hobby a few years ago after I found it whilst moving home.

It would be close though, I love my Falcon, it was the first RC I ever had, my Clodzilla simply because it's massive and imposing, and my TB01's because at heart I am a rally nut and these are the best ones out there.

How long could you live with just one though before the cravings set in and you find yourself secretly looking for more and hiding them from the wife and kids? Lol.

This is just an impossible question to answer!

On one hand it would have to be my 959. I loved the prototype, desperately wanted one as a kid, loved building it from NIB, think the chassis is a work of art and the body is a masterpiece. Tamiya at its finest...

BUT I never run the thing anymore after I broke the front suspension arm on its first outing. I did not hit anything or do any big jumps so still have no idea why it broke! It is ridiculously delicate.

So the reality is, unless i only wanted a shelf queen (which I don't) , it would have to be something tougher and able to run in all sorts of conditions.

Therefore it would have to be the Wild Willy M38 I am restoring at the moment. Tamiya at its finest in a different sort of way to the 959.

Ok, try again, this time using a carbon fibre Avante chassis.............. :)

HAHA it's still not one car then is it ..... :)

Even though I dont own one or even a newer 3 speed, I think it would have to be a vintage 3 speed like the Bruiser or Hilux I think it is.

Up to 6 months ago I'd say my Wild Willy 2. No good at nothing, but my favorite rc to drive..... Until I got my Traxxas Summit (large). Again, by far not the best at anything but does most stuff.

I have older models, probably more valuable models, but in the end of the day, they are just stuff... corporal realisations of memories.

I think your comment touches an interesting point. A very true one. "Corporal realizations of memories".

Has to be the Blackfoot, not only because it's a great car but it also has my son's name down the side (Jake that is, he's not Native American).

toss up, either a blazing blazer or a TXT-2, yes the 2 because I have had both juggs, and still own a jugg2 and a txt-1 and already like the txt-2 and haven't even finished it yet

The Black Foot is plainly AWESOME!

And I LOVE that classic promo shot. And you know, it's frankly criminal what they did with the tinted windshield!

The kit that finally hit the markets should have been just like the one in the promo shots!

This is the 1st time i have taken notice of the pic . Where the resistor is for the 3 step speed controller .

That is not where it is on the BF when it came out also .

I loved the BF back in the old days , I drove the wheels of mine & made mine as a tow truck ,

with a working winch . Not that it worked too well , as the radio gear interfered with each other .

But it was great fun & still wished i never got rid of it . But i have got 3 more since WOOHOO .

Well, you can never have enough Black Foots, can you. They're indeed awesome. But then again, if this is about keeping only one... the Clod Buster is my thing.

A Boomerang - my first Tamiya buggy in the 80"s which I drooled over in the Tamiya magazine for over a year before I bought it.

Out of all my vehicles I have the most fun with my almost stock high lift with MFU. It gets ran the most by far. Every time I show it to somebody, they always get a huge smile on their face when I turn it on and the V8 fires up.

Saw this thread has been reborn and realised that since January my perspective has changed. I am restoring a vintage 3-speed Hilux and for me that is now the one I would keep forever. Really classy piece of kit on every level.

There are so many good choices and so many good reasons, but if it came down to one model I would have too choose the Sand Scorcher.

Although it is expensive, heavy and full of faults, it optimises Tamiya for me as a teenager back in the early eighties.

You can work the weak spots out of it, drive it anywhere, buy a banger for sensible money and it was also the time before Tamiya went all plastic.

And I've always had soft spot for VDubs!
