Is this on a Tamiya product or on another company's system? It does not sound like a general radio system designation, so I would not imagine it to be commonplace.

Have you been able to visit a local hobby shop or local rc club to try the 6 standard frequency 27mhz crystals for compatibility (bands 1 - 6) ??

The receiver (a circuitboard) is generally screwed into the car in these type of toy grade RC models, and the crystal is usually soldered into that circuitboard. If you've lost the receiver the best way to make this model move again is to retro-fit it out with hobby grade radio gear, a steering servo and a cheap ESC. I've done this myself to a few toy grade RCs, as well as to go so far as to modify the gearboxes to use bearings and fit brushless motors/escs to them.

Transmitter is the bit you hold in your hand. The bit I think you may have lost.
