Hi everyone,

This is my first post but I'm looking for some advice.

Randomly this is the best forum I could find for Kyosho cars!

I dug a couple of my old RC cars out of the loft as part of a clear out and I wondered if they were worth anything.

The Tamiya Hornet I have i knackered, although still a runner. However, I also have an original Lazer ZX, it's in good condition, only bit of damage is to the shell and undertray. It's an older model I think with a graphite chassis. It's also got a digital speed controller and schumacher 14d motor.

Any thoughts?

I'll get some photos up when I'm off my mobile :-)

Hi, I'm a newbie here too, but been collecting Kyosho buggies on and off since 1999. My first car was also a Hornet in 1985, followed by a Kyosho (ultima) in 1987, so we have something in common!

If you're asking about value because you intend to sell them, then a lot has to do with presentation. Items with only one or two low-resolution photos and a one-line description generally don't sell for as much because the buyer is taking a risk. Items with many high-res photos showing condition and potential options, and with a thorough description, may sell for a lot more, if item is in good condition.

From your photos I can see that the tires are worn and that it's a bit dirty/dusty, so as a Kyosho collector I probably wouldn't be interested in paying more than $50 USD for your ZX if I saw it on eBay like this. But if you found some new tires and cleaned it up and posted several detailed photos, buyers might be able to see that it's actually in great condition and be willing to pay up to $100. A collector that has a history with that particular model may find sentimental value and pay even more. Others may be interested for those Option House gold shocks which were popular on many of the earlier models. Also if you still have the original box, that can add a lot of resale value.

Both cars appear to be nice, usuable vintage buggies and if they were mine, I'd clean them up, get new tires and have some fun!
