Bruiser could it really be IT?

Recommended Posts

Possibly the biggest re-re of them all about to arrive and all this thread can muster is a paltry 32 posts in 3 days. I guess everyone is all talked out with regards to this one. <_<

Nobody talks about it because really, what is there to say? Just like all of the re-releases before it, there is nothing new here; Unless there is a significant improvement with this model (which remains to be seen) then we will only be getting the same as the original or somewhat less.

Honestly, the only thing that could get me excited about this is if it were something truly different and inspired... Which is not at all the spirit of the Tamiya re-re.

I guess a lot are "holding back" until we know if this is the real deal or, as some are suggesting, just a Bruiser-like body on some plastic chassis. Expect the boards to be flooded if it shows to actually be IT....

At least I'm holding my calm 'till I see some real proof of it being the real deal. If it is, I'll at least get two, no matter the price.

I just saw this, oh no I'm going broke for the 3rd time!! I'm running out excuses to the mrs that this will be my last kit. She will divorce me soon, my kid will go hungry as daddy is addicted to Tamiya R/C kits!!! My face is already twitching uncontollably now. I can't wait what's Tamiya has store for us.

If it is the real deal then I'm definitely interested (and potentially bankrupt :o). If it's on the current 3-speed chassis, or any other current chassis, then I'm not. Simples!!

Very interesting that list - naturally some will be happy and some wont be but I think that Tamiya must really be struggling at the moment if they have to rerelease so many old cars. I see the Bush devil 2 on the list which no doubt will be on the same chassis as the Blackfoot III. I picked up some parts late last yar from the local Tamiya importer in NZ and we discussed the rereleases and he was surprised how many there were also.

If the bruiser is similar to the original it will be nice to see but I think the price will be way up there but at least there will be parts to keep the originals going.

Personally I cant wait for the 956 Porsche given I haven't purchased the type Kombi as personally it just isn't worth the US $150 on that chassis so a 956 will be a nice add to the collection - my original one is pretty rough. Like many others I would like to see Tamiya release all body sets separately so we can keep our rides looking great which is alwasy a good advertisment for Tamiya.

Excited...

DSCN3604.jpg

Wow you are excited! You will actually keep it in the livingroom? I hope that it is the exact reproduction of the original for you guys or a lot of people are going to be disapointed! Awesome sign! lolololol

I don't know what was a bigger re-release for TamiyaClub

Buggy Champ 2009/Sand Scorcher 2010

vs.

Hi,,

If you see that Tamiya has allready produced the Mountaineer body style in the form of HighLux High Lift then the rule of the "second re-re is the most desirable" is ok...

When Tamiya introduced the High-Lift they did a limited run of original Mountaineer bodies...then, they produced the 3-speeder High-Lift...which is exaclty the same body with only difference some more holes for lighting kit and better grill details and wipers from Mounty..which is good...

So ,,Tamiya in order to produce a Bruiser body has to replace only the rear bed/cab and you have a Bruiser body set...

My opinion is that will see only another variation of the High-Lift kit so we have a larger body selection...but Iam hoping Iam wrong...

Cheers..

Nice one!

Thanks! i am really stoked about the Bruiser. I have been into RC for almost 20 years and have never actually seen a bruiser in the flesh ;) I really liked the Hilift Hilux and regret selling mine. I hope its true to the original and not some wacky re-hash based on the DT-02 :)

I guess i was real lucky to see couple when i was a kid, ( 2 at hobby shops one was build and the other when a friend's friend came along to run with us with his bruiser, my jaw dropped on the ground lol) Wait till you hold one on your hands it's very heavy like a fine watch lol

And hope they use the same box too as its also very big.

The only Bruiser I ever saw was in the Tamiya Catalogue... LOL!

Hope everybody's wishes come true.

Just out of interest, altho not really rellevant, I remember Beaties in 1986ish selling the bruiser for £399 but can't remember if that was the compete deal, (I bought my Hilux in 82 for £115 - discounted but normal price was around £140)

I also remember a new boxed gearbox/motor was £99.99

So, since '86 I probably earn 3X-4X now what I earnt then..................don't even want to think about the price of a new Bruiser

I have a G.K Models catalouge from 86, Brusier kit only was £173.95 and the package deal £325.95. I was 9 then, 34 now and still cant afford a rere :)
