Based on the same chassis as the Blitzer Beetle and Stadium Blitzer, the Stadium Thunder was originally released in 1996 and is once again available. This kit is easy to build as is ideal for new hobbyists entering the fun world of radio control assembly kits.

Specs and Features

  • 1/10 scale R/C assembly kit.
  • Kit includes FREE BONUS PARTS (1150 Ball Bearing x 8pcs.) Note: First production only.
  • Rear-wheel drive layout with ABS bathtub chassis
  • Polycarbonate body with the original 1996 livery design.
  • 4-wheel double wishbone suspension equipped with C.V.A. shock units.
  • Fully-enclosed gearbox protects against dirt and debris and is equipped with a gear-type differential.
  • Front spiked tires feature three ribs for enhanced stability while the rear tires feature both spikes and X-shaped tread pattern along the center to ensure high grip.
  • Includes Tamiya TEU-104BK ESC.
  • Includes 540-J brushed motor.

Wow. Bringing back the Blitzer chassis in all of its guises. Didn't the Stadium Thunder use a Dyna Blaster body? Now we get neon green/yellow wheels available for those that want them.

It was never really discontinued, it was on sale until last year. Tamiya just stopped production for similar reasons as the Clod Buster, I reckon.

The Stadium Thunder was just Tamiya's typical way of getting more mileage out of a chassis. Borrow a Dyna Blaster body, add some red chassis bits, change the wheel color and bam, a "new" truck. As mentioned, it did originally come with a Sport Tuned motor standard however.
