Hey Fellas,

went to the Nürnberg Toy Fair today and picked up a catalogue of the german Tamiya distributor.

Stumbled upon this on the Last Minute News page:

84235 Limited Secret Item

There was no information apart from it beeing 445mm long, 4WD, Assembly kit and a 540 Motor.

I didn't find anything on the web.

- Toyota Prerunner on TA-02T ??

- Chevy S-10 on TA-02T ??

Maybe someone knows more?

If the picture is somewhat accurate, it looks like a Pick up.

My guesses:

- Toyota Prerunner on TA-02T

- Chevy S-10 on TA-02T

- Something on the CC-01

Really? I searched TamiyaUSA for "445mm" & that's one of the cars that came up as being that length ;)

Or did you mean height? :D

Nono, i did mean lenght.

So its the same lenght then. I thought it was shorter.

Great thinking! :)

I did a quick Google search on Tamiya USA's web site on "445 mm," and the only real candidate that seems to jump out at me might be a re-release of 58132 Mitsubishi Pajero Metaltop Wide. It's an assembly kit, 4WD, 540 motor, with an overall length of 445 mm. The other search results didn't seem correct, or the models are offered in the current lineup. The re-release of the Jeep Wrangler (originally 58141, now 84071) made some impact, so maybe a re-release of the Pajero Metaltop Wide is next (originally 58132, now 84235?????)... The description does say the Pajero MW was the first release on their XC (now CC) platform...

Just a guess based on search results and assuming a repeat thought process like the Jeep Wrangler...

Good observation!

But the Pajero already has been re-released under 49490.

So maybe really a Metallic version like Jonny_Retro suggested?

'Secret Item' - This is awesome! It seems that Tamiya's marketing department has really stepped it up this year; I can't stop checking back for more updates from Nuremberg to see what crazy thing they will unveil next.

please let the egress be 445 :D

That's exactly what I thought.

The Avante is 420mm, not sure what the Egress is but it's definitely longer. Trouble is, whatever it is under that cover doesn't look like a buggy.

Guys, don't take the size or shape of the photo into consideration. It's just a stock photo.

The exact same photo is shown twice on page 282 of the Tamiya R/C Catalog 2011 (the giant German RC-Katalog) for a couple models that they didn't have an actual photo for.
