HPI are releasing a 1/12 scale desert buggy called Coyote. It looks very similar to the Apache C1 Flux 1/8 scale buggy :)

It looks like they used the chassis of the mini trophy desert truck and put on a class 2 body on it: I love it!!!!!!

Come on Tamiya: you can do it!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, definitely just a re-bodied Mini Trophy.. A bit boring, but perhaps they are just imitating Tamiya lately.. Simply slap a new shell on an old chassis, LOL. :)

Rick

They did.... 1/12 Nissan Titan 'Racing' DF02 ;)

This, my friends is why the only popular Tamiyas in the catalogue are the rereleases designed before the last Tamiya san passed away.

Does nothing for me I'm afraid. There's too little ground clearance at the rear with those low trailing arms.

The rear suspension is very badly thought out. What it really needs is some significantly uprated springs and dampers, but you can see from the promo pic that the rear sags already at rest! Ground clearance is not such a problem if you consider that the wheels are similar in diameter to a 1/10th buggy, a lot smaller than a Short Course trucks.

There was a class for the Trophy truck at our club last summer, the shells and accesories did look good but the rear suspension ruined the handling. This desert buggy shell looks good too.

I'd have thought that HPI would have revised that obvious design flaw - but then again, HPI haven't got a great record of revising the flaws in their "scale" RC lineup. The Switch and Cup Racer minis have serious design flaws that make them almost unusable beyond slow street bashing.

Come now, you can't just say that without a little elaboration
