I don't think so. There doesn't seem to be much demand in Japan for SCTs. The SCT market is pretty competitive price-wise too. You can buy a 2WD Slash or Blitz RTR with 2.4GHz radio for around £200. I can't see Tamiya competing at that sort of price point.

Well, they have a facsimile in the Nissan Titan racing truck, but I must agree with IBIFTKH here. Tamiya seems to be doing well enough in its current racing classes and model production to refrain from attempting a short-course racer.

That said, though, I would definitely give that type of racing a shot if the company comes out with one!

yep i do understand that but there is still people who like to buy and build a kits that already have a radio battery etc. I'm not a fan of RTR stuff would love to see a KIT. It drives me nuts if you want to buy ANY traxxas vehicle you have to by the whole she-bang.I know there are a couple out there but would love to see a Tamiya kit.

Kit builds are'nt really my thing . I like to take a chassis and then customise it to do what i want it to be capable of . There are enough bodys and chassis within the Tamiya range to do your own SCT if thats what you desire but as others have said there are better RTR trucks out there . Its a shame Tamiya have'nt done one so far . To me what you build is only limited by your imagination .

I don't think Tamiya will ever do a short course truck -- it's too late to enter the game now. Associated, HPI, Losi, and Kyosho have solid kits that are all competitive on the race track. How many serious racers actually race Tamiyas? And where is Tamiya's marketing presence at the big national and regional events? Short course trucks seem to be predominantly an American taste. I just don't see it happening. That's why I bought a Blitz ESE Pro.

What he said. And BTW, I agree with the comparisons b/w the Titan DT-02 and remote control poo. I actually like the DT-02 chassis, but the Titan is just hideous. Tamiya came as close as they ever will with the TA-02 version - which is a nice truck BTW.

SCT bashing: buy the Traxxas; it is excellent fun and with the waterproof brushless - what's not to like?

SCT racing: buy one of those listed above and you will be competitive + kits are good.

SCT hall of shame: buy the DT-02 abomination. Not sure if even the designer likes it, but nobody else will.
