Ok ive already done this on my sons lunchbox which i found really easy to do, but im struggling to find any shocks short enough to fit the hornet, ive done the same i did on the lb, using a lb shock mount attached to the chassis at the rear as high as i could get it, cut away at the gearbox in the centre to reveal the metal shaft, the problem came when i was looking around for a shock oil or friction to fit, i had some tl01 friction shocks handy and thought i would use them but even with a short bottom eye and the shaft cut down a little its still too long, when fitted its already almost fully compressed, so ive been looking for around 40mm shock and can i find one, can i ******.

so any help or advice would be great.

Yeah.. I'm also interested in hearing other members' advice on this. I'm really happy with my Lunch Box 3rd shock mod and would like to install a similar solution to my Hornet.

It worked so well on my GH that I copied it onto my VLB too. I don't think the 3rd shock needs to be a fully oil damper shock, all it needs to do is push the front of the gearbox downwards while allowing it to lift enough to roll in the slots. Fitting a full on damper is a bit of overkill IMO.
