Hi all:

I am currious as to whether or not a modern ESC can be installed within the SS radio box. I am mainly concerned with heat that the ESC generates. Can it be done.

Providing that the esc you select will physically fit within the confines of the radio box this should be ok. The better the quality esc you use the more effecient it should be and many high end units now run super cool even with low wind motors. I doubt you will be putting a hot motor in the car so current draw and temp of esc should be low.

I run a reasonable mtroniks one in mine and no problems encountered. Plus its waterproof so keeps the idea of the "waterproof" box alive. We all know the water gets in anyway but there you go. []
