Its annoying when you are 100% sure you have the very small screw you need only to find its the one part you dont have in your spairs :( What pee's you off at times with our hobby ?

Lets see..

1. When prices of items that I am bidding on all of a sudden are not within reach.

2. When my bank account makes the decissions if I can buy an RC that I want.

3. When my decals are just a bit off in comparision to the other side of the body shell of a model.

For me it's the lack of satisfaction in this hobby. No matter what I blow my money on, I always want more. MORE MORE MORE!!!

Paint bleeding under my masks every time!!! ugh... facepalm.

No matter how careful I am, it always sneaks in there somewhere!

OR.... WHEN MY AVATAR PIC KEEPS GETTING REJECTED DESPITE BEING OF AN R/C CAR I SPENT A LOT OF TIME SCRATCH BUILDING... :( see below.

scratch built 1/24 VW bug gasser as seen in my showroom.

I used to be annoyed at things like, bad paint, bad stickers, bad handling, missing screws, etc... If I really screw up, I either trash it, start over, or move on.

But recently I have employed the 80/20 rule.

As long as whatever I build is at least 80% awesome, the other 20% can be FAIL and I'm still happy.

Strangely enough it totally works. I allow little mess ups to slide by now, and they no longer bother me.

Usually I end up with something I'm 95% happy with, so there is plenty of buffer to FAIL! (Which used to annoy me)

I'm a bit of a clumsy person, who's been getting clumsier with the years.

So in terms of driving that means I CRASH. Last week, I crashed my Baldre and that ended up being a $30 mistake. Well, I hopped up on the replacement parts, so in terms of part for part replacement, it was not more than a 20 dollar mistake. But still. I come too close to crashing into things.

Another time when I first got back into the hobby, I was doing some testing on my radio controller with my Lunch Box on the table. What do I do? Of course the LB is on, the radio is on and I'm testing it -- I punch the throttle and the LB flies off the table, 4feet or so toward the floor, and onto its back. Doh!

The above happened TWICE. In both cases, the LB wasn't damaged at all. Whenever someone vouches for how tough Lunch Boxes are, believe him.

And when I claim that I'm clumsy, believe that too. :(

Another annoyance: Getting things shipped in from a country, far, far away. That means that when I do crash, I can't just hop to my crappy LHS and buy the part to fix the problem. I have to WAIT for a week or more to get things back running. Now that's annoying.

Don't get me wrong, not everything is perfect! I've trashed a few bodies and items that fell below the 80% awesome scale!

HAhaha...

I couldn't agree more, a close second is being asked "for what model?' when the people at the LHS don't know the brand let alone the models I work on.

Discovering someone else has already done something you were planning on doing... It takes the excitement out of a project because it's no longer unique.

You come up with what is the most fantastic idea for a TamiyaClub themed giveaway, and someone pipes you to the punch :( Lots of great minds out there :P

This, I recently went to my LHS & asked for some Hornet rims, the guy behind the counter said he would have to order them in I pointed to some rims behind the counter labelled sand scorcher & he told me they would not fit :( I bought them anyway :P

Also I hate it when I pay top dollar for a sought after part/car on thE bay only to see the same sell for half that price a week later.

Interesting interpretation of the 80/20 rule. Normally applied to business but yours works for this hobby. :(

its annoying when you have package in the mail and you call GLS to check when its arriving only to find out it is arriving on Friday at 20:15 but it wont be available for pickup or delivery till Monday just because they close at 18:30 . grrrr

Extra rage: it happened again , oh the sweet irony , my blitz will have a nice weekend sleep over at the GLS depot 10 mins away from my house . dang .

hoping to run a few cars, only to see the weather forecast predicting ranin and more rain.. roll on summer....

Yep, Or like me this weekend, when you've charged up all your packs ready for Saturday, it's super hot, not a cloud in the sky, beach is 5 mins away, conditions are perfect and the Missus isn't in the mood today and says "We'll go tomorrow" (and you dont want to go by yourself because you cant drive and take good photo's).

Tomorrow comes and it's persisting down, Missus has been called into work and you sit there at the lounge window all day looking out at the weather with a look on your face that can only say "Somebody pee'd in my Cornflakes" :)

Murphy's Law, Irony... I've got a bone to pick with you....
