I spent last night repairing the body as best possible, although to be fair its pretty much trashed, applied some poundshop matt black paint! Painted the Gator (DT02) front wheels to match, lifted the back end with slightly softer suspension, and then fitted some TL-01 Alloy oil shocks on the front.

Had some old wheels tyres laying around for the rear (got another pair painted up to match the front, but not dry yet)

Here's the best angle to see the wheel combo:

And the front end:

Its been wet all weekend, but though I'd give it a go, and heres the result!

So thats with a 13t and the motor timing on 0..... Very stable once up to speed, no front end lift at all.

Time to order a 15t, adjust the timing and go for 60mph

Much better handling, although it was wet so don't know what it'll be like in the dry. At speed it was solid, it was twitchy on max throttle but I think that was the rear tyres trying to cling on to the wet road.

I'm usuing the standard blitzer uprights with 2 plastic bearings on each side to space it out so the wheel doesn't flap about. I might try with some DT02 ones.

Very happy with 53mph, I think if I get it to 60mph i'll call it a day and lift all the suspension and put the standard front bumper on so I can do some off road bashing. Found a BMX track a few miles up the road, so I might set a new challenge on how high/far I can jump it.

Phil if you want to jump it fit some 3racing dampers mate . They are built like brick out houses . I'd brace the top shock mounts too .

I've got a few sets of dampers, and will make sure everything is braced, and also will fit some protection for when it all goes wrong. i've also got a few spare hubs/shafts, I think i've broken 4 so far from dodgey landings :)

Is it the 9T EZRUN system you are using?, I have just fitted this in my blitzer beetle and on the first run the motor got a bit hot, not too hot to touch, but it didn't heat up at all in the M chassis. I am using the 13T pinion in the Blitzer.

This one has a 5.5t with an 11.1v lipo. cooling fan and heatsink on the motor, gets quite hot but I only run it for short periods of time.

I've got another one with a 9t ezrun in and it doesn't get very hot at aqll, not to hot to touch anyway. As long as its not getting really hot its not an issue. It would have been under much less load in an M chassis.

Thanks for that Phil, might fit it in the Sand Rover as thats what I bought the system for in the first place.

Good luck getting yours to 60mph, I have to say the blitzer was very stable with the 9T system and much easier to control than the Mchassis, it must be mental with the 5.5T :D . What Kv is that motor?

I have been following this thread but must have missed the bit where you upgraded to the 5.5T system.

Wearing its new shoes now. (Need to glue them all and re-paint the red on the front)

Hopefully will have a 15t pinion and good weather this weekend ready for some 60mph runs ;)
