I wired up two of the leds on my maisto shell to a receiver pack (four AA batteries=6V?)

I think they went pop?, not had them working since.

I only want two at front and two at back with a on-off switch, was going to use the receiver pack to power them.

So can I just wire the L.E.D's to the receiver battery pack with an in line switch?

Would these L.E.D's work?(I am on a strict budget, or I hide it from the mrs  )

It says they work on 12V, but would they work on 6V, I think they would but wouldn't be as bright? :(

Edit to add,One of the front ones still work, but the back ones have popped. Think I will rip them all out and start again.

Edit again, it's 5mm ones I need not 3mm. But will they work on 6v instead of 12?

Did you use the appropriate resistors for your leds? The values of the ohms for the resistors vary depending on the led, the color and what not. Although, in my experience, it doesn't take a more than 20 ohm resistors on any color to keep LEDs from blowing under a 6v of power.

Not sure about Leds used with 12 v battery. I doubt they'll light up. Or if they do, they'll be dim.

Thanks for the response Yello, the leds were allready fitted to the maisto shell, they have resistors and such allready fitted, I think they are all scrap now anyway.

Just need a cheap source of useable 5mm led's really. pre-wired would be nice. I shall keep looking.

I just powered them up just now with a 7.2v pack that was pretty flat and now only one front light is working, so I guess I have done some damage.

I have found some now

Will these work with four AA batteries?

Going to use 2 for the front lights and 2 to light up the engine and then maybe get some 3mm ones for the back lights. Sorted, hopefully :(

Still looking for two red 6V leds in 3mm for the back lights.

You'll need to find the right resistors to drop the voltage down; I've never seen LEDs that run at 6 volts. White ones are usually 3 to 3.3 volts, and red ones are 2.something, if I recall. So 2 white LEDs in series should be OK on 6 volts, but for the red ones you'll have to step it down.

I've used this little calculator to figure out resistor values and wiring before: LED Calculator. The rest of that site has some good basic info as well.

you could try these , I got it to work on the 3.channel of my GT3B

and can switch them on and off (no brake and turning signal just on or off)

just connect the ESC input directly to the third channel and leave the servochannel free.
