Vintage Decals

Recommended Posts

I am re-building my old Hi-lux 58028 ,painted 30 yrs ago IIRC with cellulose car paint and then Decals applied, but no laquer used.

As no Decals are available, i was wondering if anyone has sucsessfully managed to remove and then re-use old decals?

There is only a couple of small ones I would like to try and save.

TIA Geoff

I've bought other stickers from them and to be honest they were pretty naff quality. If you are going to run it hard and scuff it up then they are OK for the looks, but for a shelfer or occassional light runner they are pretty poor.

You can try peeling them off, and a hair dryer or heat gun might help, but go slow because the decals stretch really easily (even more easily with heat).

When reapplying them, you can try Elmer's repositionable spray adhesive, or regular spray adhesive. One of those could be the go.
