Can someone confirm if the Frog re re Universal Set will fit the Wild One re re ?

http://www.stellamod...fts-p-2380.html

What pitch is the pinion I'll need a suitable replacement ?

Going brushless :).

I've been running frog uni's in my original wild one for around 4 years. They're overkill, but they do fit. With the oblong travel stops on the rear trailing arms (like the ones that came with the FAV re-re), the out drives don't tend to eat themselves anywhere as badly as the orignal trailing arms that had extra droop.

You can also fit the F103 carbon stub axles to the front if you want to go completely stoopid.

if T bothers making a balldiff for the SRBs, wonder why they don't for these & ORVs

Oh, I wish... either that, or does anybody know if Thorp Mfg is still in business?

I'm a happy guy!...I just picked up my very first Wild One from my LHS.

Of all the re-releases, this is pretty much the only one I really wanted, it just looks so utterly awesome, just the way a buggy should look

I also picked up a "torque tuned" motor to replace the kit motor and I think that's about as much motor as I'll put in it.

I'm in the process of building it right now and so far it has been enjoyable...just taking a break...I ran out of 850 bearings!

I'm having a problem with my build.

When I install the steering servo, the front right shock binds up, I've adjusted the rod length on the steering arm, rebuilt the shock and more but can't get it right  .

I have a weird thing like that on my vintage WO. When I steer all the way to the left my right shock binds or does something weird. I think I have t do some tinkering.

show a pic

z-bent wire is evil, better to replace with threaded rod, balls & cups. Worse when unequal lengths.

true, 3mm rod and ball cups are better and more durable

if you do a Z bend keep it as close to the upright/wheel as you can

Sold my WO of I'd show a pic of the bend

I have just about finished building my Wild One and does it look sweet!

This is not going to be a shelf queen, I will run it and maybe even enter a vintage race or two...

Running these things, you're bound to break things, so I was wondering what breaks on this?

Any recommended spares I should stock up on?

since there's no more hexbones, gearbox/diff would probably be weakest spot

if you jump it hard & often, the chassis tub gets stressmarks at the waist

rear tyres don't last forever like the fronts do

Can you show your front end ? Mine is al bound up on the right shock no matter what I do !

I would be happy to post some pictures, but somehow I can't attach photos

I get a "Uploading is not allowed" message...

Do you have photo bucket or similar photo host . That's the easier way .

Here's some pictures of my front end...

As you can see, I did change the kits steering linkage for some lundsford titanium turnbuckles.

In order for the rod ends to clear the servo, I had to use the other included servo horn.

As for them "locking up" the shocks, I only get that problem if I dial too much steering in...

Great stuff viking ! Superb solution.

My problem is the front right (passenger side) shock is basically fully compressed when my linkage is installed.

Do you have the lengths of the rods you used ?

Just looks to me like you supposed to use the Off set servo saver that is pushed back where the rods connect and not the straight farward one you have shown on the servo in the pic this is the type used in the fast attack so yours is most probably the incorrect one installed that's why your rods did not line up.....Look at the instructions again i bet the photo shows the off set set back servo type servo saver should be used.
