What a fantastic weekend my wife the kids an I have really enjoyed ourselves. The wife enjoyed driving, Harvey enjoyed marshalling and Chloe enjoyed taking pictures but she was soooooooo happy to win the holiday buggy in the Sunday raffle.

If I hear dad can I build it one more time I think I will scream. I promised her she can make it Monday when I find her some bearings for it. ( I know I'm a meeny but all I want to do know is put my feet up).

It was really good catching up with and meeting like minded people here on tc and a big thank you to everyone who made it as good as what it was. Especially chris and his army of helpers who did fantastically well organising and setting up the event. I hope there are many more to come.

Again thank you

Now what did everyone buy ??

I bought 2 tins of paint, ta01 chassis, ta03rs chassis a escort tt01 kit a supra tt01 kit including blitz decals. Plus 2 cockpit sets and a empty Clio box

And as I say Chloe won the holiday buggy

Needless to say the car was very full on the way home.

Dazza1, your daughter winning the HB2010 was spot on. 'The children are the RC future' and all that and she was clearly well chuffed. :-)

I bought a few spares and 3 cars: Hilux, Early Hotshot & Hummer.

Great couple of days, with only 1 casualty a cracked chassis on my XC Jeep!.

Got a fair few bits, 85% wild one, Marui big bear Datsun shell, few motors, losi wheels and tyres, original XC jeep shell, Kamtec series land rover shell, TLT axles(I seem to be hoarding them!)Forgot to say, it was great to get my Tamtech porsche on a track as well. It now needs a new bodyshell as I have just noticed it has some major cracks in the bodyshell. I guess I deserve that for putting a wild brushless in it :D

Thanks Dazza, I was with Paul who bought a steering wheel transmitter from you. Bargain. I think he has completed all his cars now but he didn't bring any with him.

Lol, Paul got Eddystones wheel falling off in this video, around 47seconds in.

Some great videos wolfdog

Cheers mikeekim, Was it you who I tried to rob the blitzer front and back from?, I say rob I meant purchase for a incredibly low price. lol

I got home, took the blitzer out and snapped an axle, so if you still have the rest of the rear end?, I may be wanting to purchase it?.

Really enjoying watching the videos everyone, looking forward to seeing more along with some photo's. This is what rc is all about, having fun, just wish more clubs would allow us to run our tamiya's like this.

Yes it is just the rear axle, thanks very much Mikeekim, I am going to have to look out for the cvd's or stop using the 3s lipo pack lol.

Pm on the way, very kind of you, thanks.

Thanks to all that turned up and made it a great weekend. Thanks for the positive feedback. As anyone has been to these events will know, the main thing that makes them is the people that turn up. If they enter into it, for what it is (a bunch of people playing with and swapping toy cars and lots of chatting to others about all things RC) then they are fantastic days.

I think it went well and at its peak there were over 100 people there. I think we can do better than that next time ;)

Despite all the positive feedback there are definitely things we could do better and I'll start another thread about future improvements later on. If you could all chip in that would be great.

I'm shattered now and need a week off. I took a few videos and will try and get them up later on.

Cheers

Chris

Congratulations to all involved, from the organisers to the attendees!

Even though I wasn't there, I've really enjoyed reading about all the build-up, the event itself and of course seeing all the pics and vids! Thanks for sharing.

Good job TC :)

A Big Thanks to Chris for organising the event, and all those that helped out too - just had a fantastic couple of days. Great to meet loads of people and even managed to buy a few bits too ;)

Bought a Nismo GT-R with led lights NIB, s/h Schumacher Swift 1/8 buggy (already run that up in the garage last night), sport tuned motor, HS HP suspension kit, hornet dampers, vintage Tamiya catalogue and a few polycarb car stands.

Sold lots of buggies & parts to fund an impending 1:1 car replacement - the display cabinet is now lookig very empty !!

All in all a great weekend, can't wait for next year when I will be better prepared and have some runners to play with....

Thanks to all.....

Mark

Well in the end I was only able to attend on the Saturday, but it was still a good day out. :)

Got to meet lots of people, in the end though I kept forgetting to ask their TC names. Stand out ones I remember are Netsmith, John (Weston), Buggymuncher, Biggus, Spike and I think SuperGripper. All good lads and the whole atmosphere was relaxed and friendly, if slightly chaotic at times.

I'll apologise now to all those I crashed into with my Holiday Buggy due to my atrocious driving. I only built it on Friday though and Saturday morning was it's 1st drive!

Most of my cars escaped damage, except for the Delta which almost had it's front end torn off. Now has a tear up one side of the front but is repairable. That slight step in the track between concrete slabs at the beginning of the main straight was lethal.

Scored for some much needed parts at excellent prices so I'm happy with that too!

Even though I actually have two of them NIB I had never seen an Avante in the flesh before Saturday, wow what a beautiful machine it really is. Need to get cracking building mine now.

The main stand out points for me were the Lunchboxes racing. I never really got the appeal of these things but I do now, and the abuse they took without breaking was astonishing. Topping even that though were the Traxxas Slashes. My word those things are savage, I need one asap. The red Top Force Evo was a bit of a beast too. Re-release please, Mr Tamiya.

All in all a successful weekend it seems. Since that was actually my first proper RC meet for 25 years I'll be better prepared for the next one.

Good to see you all. I'm gutted I didn't win the Wild One though. <_<
