There are loads of great friend people there, so no worries on that front. There is always the option of dragging along a friend at the last minute and just paying for entry on the gate.

will be better off coming alone that way i aint got to worry about anyone else lol, i can do whatever then bit of mingling, racing ,browsing, cars fetching/marshalling if needed.

Hugely impressed with the amount of thought and preparation that's going into staging this event; well done to all involved!

Hope you have a great weekend TC, and looking forward to seeing the pics and vids next week.

Thanks for the feedback much appreciated. :) When everyone is 'into the spirit' of these type of events a good time is assured. Dazza1 for example does not need to think about bringing any seats because looking at his race booking he is going to be standing up racing on the track all day ;)

Just a note on the event booking, as I said earlier if some races are underbooked then they might get swapped at the last minute, so if there is any one race you really want to see and you are the only one in it, its time to start lobbying others to join you too. (This forum is as good a place to start as any)

cheers

I think you may need to book me a table for me and the pit crew please.

It's not just me that will be racing there are 4 drivers in team Dazza1 lol. I just hope I have enough spares to run all the cars.

Just one quick question. Do you think that we can use f1 cars ect in the open track sessions ? I ask this because I know people will want jumps ect in this elotted time. I don't want to spoil anyone's fun by saying don't have the jumps but could we make sure that there is a path avoiding them. But I don't mind running with the big rigs ( if it's ok with them ?) to fill up there time. My f1 car is standard and not very quick and I would keep out of there way.

Thanks

Open session are just that, its just a question of working something out with the people there at the time. The open sessions are longer than the normal 20min slots too, so although there might be a few registered they won't be on the track all the time.

We try and always make sure there is a 'no jump' route on the track. Some of the models people run are old and brittle so not everyone hits every ramp you just decide as you go around [That said lots of people start off quite conservative with what they are prepared to put their vintage models through, but after about 5 minutes that goes out of the window and they are driving like its a new model and they are 16 again]

Booked myself into the races, fingers crossed a Clod i bought yesterday will turn up in time!

But I am in the XC, Mini, Drift, and touring classes anyway so enough to keep me busy :-)

Really looking forward to the meeting, an early thanks to Chris for bothering to put the effort into all this :-)

For the track I've got meters and meters of a combination of silicon filled firemans hose, drainage trunking and rubber bricks. I've also got (will have) 6 assorted ramps and Joe is going to bring some tires for extra obstacles/Marshal stand points.

I was just wondering if anyone had any old carpet they want to bring along, either drape over the ramps to 'soften' them a little or to put down on some of the corners for a bit of extra grip and to mix up the surface a bit. I'm still trying to source some locally and not having any is not a problem, but if you've got some sizeable chucks you can bring along we could certainly use them. That said I think we are only really after pieces 4-6ft wide we don't need any little off cuts.

(posted this in between being outside building ramps)

i have some carpet i can chuck in car 10x12ft i think, its in garage and quite flat ya know the cheapo type lol.i can cut to what you need at home or can bring in bulk.im looking to get there about 9 saturday.

Mr Nice,

If it were possible to cut it into 2 x 10ft by 6ft strips that would be ideal.

Thanks Joe and others, i appreciate being appreciated. I love doing it, reminds me how much I enjoy this stuff and gives me a definite date for doing it rather than missing all the stuff other people organise.

It seems that I cant make this event after all*... I was relying on the train, which is a bit too expensive, or the coach, which would take 5 hours each way...???? I like Tamiya a LOT, but I could have a new kit for the price of the train, and I ain't doing 9 hours on a coach in one day!!! LOL

Have a great time at the races, I look forward to seeing the pictures!! It really looks like a great event, obviously a lot of time and effort has gone into this one. Well done to all involved in organising this one.

I still have the tshirt on order, so unfortunately that's as near as I got this time around. LOL

*note to self - Learn to drive before the next event!!

@Actualday, where are you based?, I am guessing it is no-where near me if it takes so long on the bus, if you are near me at all, I would pick you up, I have an extra seat in the car.
