The Official Tamiyaclub.com 2012 Event - 4 DAYS TO GO!

Recommended Posts

Oooh, this sounds good!! I'll see if I'm free!

If people are buying tickets on the gate, how will the gatesman know if the incoming people are TC members?? What will happen if randomers with RC cars turn up??

I propose an official Tamiyaclub tattoo with bar code so we can get scanned at the entrance and have our id verified :)

Or it's 3 hours on the train, with one change in Leicester, for £51.50 (return)

The event is now almost certainly the weekend 18/19th of August so keep your diaries clear.

Apologies in advance to all those people that won't be able to make it, whatever date we picked would be bad for someone. When booking venues of this size you don't really get a lot of flexibility on dates.

Had you thought of offering TC member T-shirts, you could offer our usernames plastered over them. We'd all know instantly who was who.... great way for people wanting to speak to someone they've chatted to for years but never seen.Just an idea..Steve

Just updating my profile here where it asks for my membership number. Where do I find that?

Once logged in click on your name at the top of the page then scroll down and it says tc user code. That's your number.

Is that on the mainpage or here in the forums?

On the forums; click the dropdown arrow next to your username, then profile

Did you mean for this to be in the meeting thread?

Yeah, just noticed the email from Chris about it, and it says update your profile if you think your almost certain to be going. Have just got off a plane and am a bit jetlagged so if it should be somewhere else then apologies!

Ah ok, I've not read the mail properly (just looked at the pictures  )

If it's critical to the meet, here's as good a place as any to ask then

I signed up, got the email but it will not open? Any suggestions?

No, sorry, I've got Windows Live Mail and it opens fine in that :(

I've just read the email and I'm guessing it's your TC membership number not the forum usercode.

In your case, it's 4382; http://www.tamiyaclu...ber.asp?id=4382

Sorry, from What Dazza wrote I thought it was your forum profile you were updating (hence my Q)

Cheers. I suspected that was the case but just wanted to confirm. :)

Hi All

the profile update that I requested in the first newsletter I sent out is actually referring to the account you set up when you signed into the news letter. The actual words 'update your profile' should actually be a link that takes you to the right place. Alternatively I think there is a link at the bottom of the newsletter sayomg something like 'update your subscription profile'. Finally if all those fail, when you got your original newsletter confirmation email through there should be a link in that.

Sorry that all sounds real complicated, its because I'mhandling the newsletter through a third party system, which is completely independant to the club. When it comes to ticket sales and race booking it will all be back on this site and much more straight forward.

In terms of membership number when you sign onto the main site at www.tamiyaclub.com your membership number appears in the top right hand corner of the website.

Cheers

Chris

For the meet in August I have decided to either Bring a Mini or Dynastorm.

Will there be a limit on motor turns or can we just come as we are with whatever configuration we have in the car. At the moment my Mini has a 23T motor or do we all have to use stock?

No motor limits chap, bring whatever your going to have most fun with. (no way you can get both over?)

This seems like an unmissable event and despite only having a handfull of cars now I will be there to catch up with old friends. I will be packing all of whats left of my RC spares and will be having a mega clearout. It wont be the same amount as I had back in the day, now that was silly :P

Long jump competition anybody?

How many batteries and chargers do we recommend to bring to an event like this? I'll be bringing a Hotshot & Turbo Optima Mid, possibly a Hornet too.

How long's a piece of string?

I've gotten away with four batteries and a charger before, but that's with maybe 10 cars and decent gaps in between 'my' track time for charging.

Looking at your list, you got maybe three classes there, depending on how they're separated.

Well one way or the other I need to spend some money on batteries over the next couple of months instead of stuff for shelf queens. :)

Yeah, this is where it hurts ;)

They all got ESCs etc?

I've actually got more ESCs than I know what to do with since all of the kits that I get from Hong Kong come with one as standard. They are only the usual TEU-101/104 though so probably not as good as some others. Should do the job though. :)

Usually, these events are more about fun than placings so don't sweat the spec of the ESCs - if the car moves you'll be fine

After approximately 4 laps in any class, someone usually decides to up the ante and slings a ramp on the track and it all goes downhill from there
