Mine hardly qualifies as a drifter, more of a slider lol!

TA01 chassis, drift tyres and a cheap prepainted body with 3Racing light kit installed . Was quite fun running with the sparking drift tyres the first night i finished it, sadly the flinted tyres only lasted one battery pack :(

I built this drift Beetle but have yet to add electronics and drive it.

It's an ABC Genetic chassis with a reproduction of the old IMAI beetle body.

is that it not even a hand full of drifters ... oh dear that poor show !!

haven't tinkered with TT01 for sliding for like 2-3yrs matey

can't just bung plastic tyres onto any repurposed retired tourer anymore,

drift has specialised into forward motor & "CS" overdriven front these days

VDF is a classic...

lately there's some resurgence into getting "old-skool" cars like TA03F up to CS scratch

and also drift tuning on latest tourer chassis like TA06 is popular with the Japanese

(rather than letting factory do everything by buying a yok DIB or Alex/StreetJam)

Any tips on how to cs my ta03f willy? Where can I get pulleys?

currently ppl are modding pulleys from various gas cars with 5mm shank

thinking ahead, we're trying to get some layshaft with 4mm shaft... as pulleys are more common

other hurdle is belts, there ain't much other cars that use belts around TA03 size :(

Posted

no way! that's so 2006 :) btw there's also a tamiya 17 in the oneway hopup pack

now we're thinking 20/21 & 10/11/12... :D

other slight drama is stock belt is 5mm thick i think; modern pulleys are geared for 4mm.

ok i'll get out my bandsaw for the belt :P if you went an equal amount either way in the tooth count then you should be able to run the stock belt?

What are the tire/wheel specs on here? Looks great with the smaller diameter wheels!

Tyres have the edge sloped giving the effect of stretched a tyre and as above guys said the wheels have a fake wall to make the wheel look smaller 6mm offset on a 190mm body wheels sit nice under the arches

A friend of mine has just successfully counter steered his TA03f, i'll try & get pics/specs soon. Stock 16t & 13t from a mst kit for gv I think, there is also a 20t xray pulley that fits..
