I was going to mount it on the floor of the cab, the MFU just barely fits between the 2 seats (Like how ant88 did), but I didin't like how you could see it between the seats. My solution hides a great deal of the wiring and the entire MFU. Although There is really no reason to tilt the cab now.

I have seen the MFC holder that ant88 has made before. In this case, I've already built the false wall, and am getting ready to wrap this project up...

Thanks for the kudos on my build!

Cheers,

Black styrene floor to hide the rest of the wires. Will be a very clean interior, which was my goal, but really hard to do!

The truck is assembled now, all I have to do is the exterior details and maybe some extra decals...

Magnificent result, not that I'm surprised, very envious of your skills my man. Does this one get a trailer, or does it have to share?

HA, I don't think I'm done yet, still have door handles to paint, etc... I was debating keeping it clean, or putting all sorts of extra stuff all over!

I still make make some livery decals, but I have to ponder it for a while. I do like the clean look, but then again extra stuff all over could be fun!

I may get another trailer, but for now I think it will share. I did not install the motorized coupling/decoupling for the 5th wheel.

The mesh, is plain old household plastic screen for home windows. You can get it at any home improvement store.

I liked the larger mesh for painting white, because of the contrast with the black holes. The stock mesh is very small, and would have looked mostly white I think...

Cheers guys for the compliments...

Turned out great in that colour, Scott! Good work on hiding the wires and stuff in the cab. And yes, the final detailing with the Sharpie-pen and painting details like door handles and those things are what makes a huge difference in the end, and makes it look so much more real. ;)

I'd love to do a trailer, and probably will, but for now I have sooooo many other projects! ACK!

It would be nice to do a matching trailer for this rig though!

Cheers,

EDIT: It's all your fault Charlie, you somehow made me go to Towerhobbies, and I accidentally ordered a Reefer Trailer and 9 cans of orange paint! :D

Thread resurrection here folks. After viewing skottoman's excellent build thread and admiring the finished product, I've just cracked the seal of my Scania Full Option kit.

Will be a long term full "dry" assembly for the winter, followed by a complete disassembly and painting in the spring :).

Hopefully it'll turn out half has beautiful as this one !

YES! Make a build thread... ;)

Is yours a 470 or a 620, I don't remember. But it is a great build for sure. :)

Enjoy!

Hey Scott.

Just re-reading through this thread and your Knight Hauler one. Would love to hear what your Scania sounds like with the speaker enclosure sealed off.

You said it (well the knight hauler one) has more bass and was wondering how much difference your Scania would sound compared to my MAN, which still has the two huge holes in the roof either side of the the speaker.

So as you can imagine, (with you being an audio engineer) it sounds remarkably tinny compared to my Knight Hauler which has the factory huge speaker enclosure

inside it. The big difference as is with loss of sound (all treble) is you have to turn it up quite a bit louder than the KH to hear it, and it is only a 5w speaker so it borders on distorting.

I guess I should just 'do it', but would almost like to hear the difference if it wasn't to much trouble, before I commit.

I will post a video shortly to explain.

I will post both of mine so you can hear the difference.
