Today I went to see a man about buying some of his older, weirder and les desirable RC cars, while I was there as well as showing me the cars he had on offer, he showed me some of his other more unusual stuff, like this.....

Have you ever seem anything like this before??? TRANSPARENT FALCON PARTS!!! he had this new built falcon with these extreamly unusual see through parts fitted, which included, Gearbox casings, rear shock towers and front suspension uprights.

he says that they were Japaneses only special parts but was very coy about where exactly they came from, I have never seen anything quite like this before, I imagine that Tamiya made special Transparent parts for certain "In house" display models that showed the inner working of the car, but just how common are parts like these, and why were made for the Falcon of all cars? [8)]

any information about these parts would be greatly appreciated :)

Tamiya's latest lot were the TL01 chassis and Mini CVA shocks. These were found around Asia and believe some even made it to Sydney Australia (I'm in Melbourne [V]).

Some pairs of the transparent dampers made it to Europe as well. I first saw them in Switzerland. I then got hold of two pairs in Norway a few months later. Contrary to what most people with experience with transparent plastic would think (myself included), the plastic in these dampers is very tough and not brittle at all. Using the Tamiya sidecutter to remove the parts from the sprues didn't even result in a hint of cracks around the separation points. They're nice, but include normal red O-rings and green diaphragms, so I would love to get hold of a few of the 49117 Clear Silicon Damper Seals!

I don't know about clear M01/M02-parts, but Tamiya did made a clear M03 chassis in addition to the TL01 chassis.
