Would it be possible to get some pics of it at the lowest setting?

I really cant decide what to get between one of these or a lunchy!

If you want to lower the body, smaller wheels help

Thanks! Yeah, it wheelies great. It's great fun, goes well on road and on tracks, gravel etc. My 3 yr old daughter loves it and reckons it's hers!! :)

They're supplied with a stock 540 silver can and TEU104 ESC, obviously any upgrades are up to you but they're fun even with stock power. They're designed for a standard 7.2v Nimh, rounded Lipos will fit but the ones I have are slightly longer than the Nimhs so I run it without the battery stopper, just use the pins. The wheelie bars aren't adjustable.

Window outlines? No idea! I guess you'd have to ask VW or Tamiya...

OK I've got to assk, why is there one side window on each side that isn't outlined in black ?

I think thats the opening window on the 1/1??The 1/1 has a different coloured window rubber.

Ah so its standard gear, i assumed you might have upgraded thats all. Looks fantastic though, definetly gonna go with the smaller wheels. At the OP, how do these compare performance wise with a lunchbox?

So the lunchy chassis with the camper body...

The camper bodies go for £50 don't they? Well the ones i can find.

I too would prefer the longer wheel base of the lunchy etc.

The Camper bodyset is a bit silly pricing currently, especially when you could buy the whole kit for £100.

For some reason Tamiya bodies often cost 1/2 the price of the corresponding kit....

i want a vw themed collection

That's what I've got going on too! I've been into VWs since I was little kid. 90% of my R/C car's are VW.

The Lunchbox is a RRP of ca £115, and is always arounf the £100-105 mark

The Camper is RRP ca £165 so both Fusion and Wonderland selling them at £99 is a great deal.

The Lunchie is an older design, tough but a bit crude. The WR02 is more modern, also very tough. At that price, the camper is better value IMHO.

Aye but "fusionhobby's" is also selling the lunchbox for £99. But yeah with the RRP of the camper being much higher, the value is muuch better at the reduced prices of £99.I think its the short wheelbase of the camper that is putting me off, i'm still tempted by the lunchbox as it looks to be a better RC for offroad bashing, with its aforementioned wheelbase, and slightly higher ground clearence etc? But, then when i think "Right, i'll get the lunchy" i instantly think "But no!, its not a VW body" etc.

Hi the lunch box does way less wheelies and will probably be better for bashing more as the wheelie always lifts the front up when lets say going in short grass on a slight incline you have to go slow and kind of fether the gas to keep the front down and a lunch box will just fly full speed and stay with all 4 wheels on the ground... the lunch box jumps much better also where as the wheelies chassis always tumbles alot more and don't stay level in the air as much.

So it's the age old heart versus head argument yeah? Hmmm you're not the first to be in that predicament. :)

I own both and overall I prefer the WR02, BUT I am glad I own both and it would be a tough decision if I had to choose just one.

Here's what I'd do if I were you... Lunchbox/Pumpkin don't seem to hold their value on the secondhand market as well as the WR02 does so buy the VW Wheelie, build it and have fun with it and if you reallly, REALLY aren't happy with it then try to pick up a cheap VLB/MP off eBay. I honestly think you could a whole car for the same price as a new VW Wheeler bodyset.

It's clear your heart wants the VW and they haven't been around long enough to hit the secondhand market yet so you'll have to buy new and you won't find a better price than £99, whereas VLB/MP are plentiful and cheap on the secondhand market.

On a seperate note I didn't know Wonderland were also doing the VW Wheelie for £99 - it is a good price.

And no, the Blitzer Beetle shell would not fit ok on the VLB chassis. Blitzer Beetle chassis is a lot longer than the Lunchbox chassis and the body would look awful mounted to it. Beetle Blitzer wheelbase is 260mm compared to the Lunchbox's 207mm - it's quite a difference. If you want the Bettle body on a truck chassis it'll have to be the Monster Beetle.
