I have been searching around for wheel and tyre options for my DF03 Dark Impact and find that there isnt much to choose from!!

I have the standard offroad wheels and tyres that came with the kit,but want to have the option to put a set of onroad wheels and tyres with the right offset as to fit a saloon body (parma chevy bellair/willys etc).

Anyone got any suggestions?

Do the DF03RA wheels fit?

Yup since they're 12mm hex. As far as I know though, the buggy has longer suspension arms than the DF03RA so that'll be your bigger problem when trying to fit it under a 1/10 saloon body - so you might need to pick up 2 sets of E parts.

Search Team Bluegroove, buy their Porsche 959 1/10 body and you have a georgeus body that is wide enough to use the DF03 arms.

I think the willys coupe body is wide enough, not so sure about the bellair though.

Will have a look at the DF03RA wheels and see whats on offer,

Do they not have a different rolling radius though, meaning lower gearing?

Nothing a larger pinion would sort out though! :)

Yep, just about any 12mm hex wheels will work, but the question is which bodies are wide enough for the buggy arms vs. the DF03ra arms. Standard on-road wheels/tires would be a bit smaller than buggy wheels/tires, so you may have a minor gearing issue.

The DF03 gearing range covers both rally and buggy sized wheels. You will need a new pinion (one of the 0.5 module DF03RA ones).

Wheel fitment is 12mm drive hex, but... The DF03 will have issues with some wheels that have large brace mouldings inside the wheel. It comes down to a trial and error fitment.

I have from 23 to 29 pinion, didnt know you can go down to a 19!

Do you have to get one off a helicopter, like i have done to get a hardened main shaft gear?

I already have a couple of shells,i will be able to get them all to 'fit' but how well they look is a different matter.

Tried to upload pics but they are too large.Got to work out how to shrink them.

Managed to shrink the pics.

Have got a couple of bodies to choose from:-

Original body for Dark Impact:-

41 Williys:-

34 Ford:-

New shape Mustang:-

Grave Digger:-

69 Charger (Dont think this one is going to fit!):-

Think i could get away with using the willys shell and not getting new arms/drive shafts etc?

Does anyone know if the HPI V Groove tyres fit on Dark Impact rims??
