shwng1973 0 Posted July 10, 2012 Okay I have read about the Super Champ one. Is it Item 155? I just wanted to see if anyone else has done anything else? Like maybe use a bearing set up like that on the DB-01, or DF-03. Just thought I might get a just a little more steering. Let me know as I want to fix this in the next 2 weeks before the beach. Thanks for your input. Shawn

TA-Mark 195 Posted July 13, 2012 Okay I have read about the Super Champ one. Is it Item 155? Tamiya OP155 is an alloy damper set for touring cars. The Super Champ steering would need to be raided from a Super Champ kit (#58034). It has rose joint ball ends instead of the plastic pop on ball cups. This stops the ball cups from popping off the balls and removes some slop from the steering. The Super Champ also has a very good servo saver design which is still used on many different brands today. It gets rid of the 'bent piece of wire' from the standard kit and replaces it with a solid link between the servo saver and servo horn with rose joints the same as the steering links. You could get the rose joints and threaded rods from other sources, but you still require the servo saver from the Super Champ. Mounting the servo more solidly into the chassis will remove more slop from the steering. To get more steering lock, ie more throw on the steering, use a longer servo horn.
