Protective Film (on Polycarbonate bodies)

Recommended Posts

Hi all.

I know this may sound silly, but I've actually forgotten how to remove the protective film off a polycarbonate body. I recently bought a new body shell for my Brat off of ebay, and it was a Tamiya-made one. I have of course done it before with the body that came with the kit, but I can't seem to find an edge on the body. Any help on how to do it?

Thanks!

Are you sure there's one on there and it hasn't already been peeled off or never had one to start with? I've had a few Tamiya bodies that never had a protective film. Usually you can get a spot started easily by rubbing your finger accross one of the cut edges.

Brat lexan shell is a recent appearance, they all had film.

if you don't keep long nails, easiest way is to cut a slip of sticker vinyl and tape it half over any cut edge of the film - use as a tab to lift up the corner
