OK, I know this has been done many times but I had a search and couldn't find a definate answer.

I have just bought these wheels for my sand rover

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/250577591807?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649

the front is a 12mm hex on the wheel, I have fitted a bearing each side of the wheel and it runs free but far from perfect as the wheel is running on the axle on the 5mm hole in the centre of the wheel.

What I need is a 12mm plastic surround that will fit on a bearing giving it a 12mm hex fitment.

I can't do any pictures just now as photobucket isn't working but I may add photos later.

Thanks Commiedoor, it was a bit hard to see what you have done in those pics, could you explain please?

I was just looking at your 6wheeled hornet truck while I was searching, a very impressive build that was.

the hex drive hubs are from a traxxas 2wd slash , you can but them complete with ball raced bearings .

you discard the hub carriers and use the axle housing

.

you the grind down the housing to fit in carrier or space it up , depending on what you have .. it shows this in the honet truck build

you will have to drill out the pivot pinhole to fit a tamiya pin as the traxxas one is a smaller diameter ..

i'm sure that when you look at it you will sort some thing out .. just gotta think out side the tamiya parts box .. ! lol ..

Here's the wheel as photobucket is working again.

I was hoping for a replacement for the blue bit with a bearing carrier instead of a hex fitment but it's never that easy.

One of the easiest ways now to fit 12mm hub wheels on fronts is to grab the new associated SC10 front parts.

steering block #9880

axle #9881

you'll need 4 bearings 3/8 od and 3/16 id

@Willychang, that sounds easy, I will have a look at sand scorchers wheels, thanks for that.

@Billg4, thanks for the part numbers, that sounds easy as well.

@Commiedoor, thanks for the link, I did look at that before, that is an awesome truck and a massive change to the Hornet, that must have took a lot of imagination, I will go and have another look at your thread.
