I'm planning on converting a Blackfoot into a Monster Beetle usig a re-re Scorcher shell, and I have a question about body post locations. I found dimples in the inside of the shell; is that where the Monster Beetle posts go? Or is it for the Blitzer? Or are they the same?

What do you say, Beetle body experts?

The side holes for the MB and the BB are the same. You can "reopen" them in a SS re-re body with some sort of drill. Now, if you really want to use a SS re-re shell, your problem will be the bonnet hole, cause it is not located in the same-exact place.

Good luck with the project!

There is a ghost hole about 7mm back of the scorcher front post hole. Funny as we have gone full circle. First it was how to fit the mb/bb body to a ss now its the other way around

Thanks for the info. Since I don't have a front mount, i'll probably make a mount to fit the existing hole instead of drilling a new one and having to plug the old one.

Why not buy a Re-re Blitzer Beetle body?

Badboy

That would sure be a solution, but prices sure make a difference nowadays. The prices of B.B. shells are now much higher than the re-re S.S.s. :(

Yep. SS body is available all in one box for around $45, while piecing togeher a Blitzer shell adds up to about $60. Also, it's easier to paint a white shell.
