Hi everyone -

My Lunchbox re-re front steering servo savers have obliterated.

I need to know a) the part number to find a standard replacement for them, but more importantly B) If it's possible to find a stronger replacement for it so that it doesn't happen again??

Any suggestions would be fab - thanks :-)

Standard servo saver part number for the Lunch Box re-re is 0115065. I've also used 50204. A better servo saver is something from Kimbrough (114 for Futaba/25 spline, 113 Airtronics/Ko Propo/Sanwa/23 spline, 131 Hitec/24 spline). Web links:

There's alsot he Tamiya High Torque servo saver set, item 51000. Having just put one on a Monster Beetle they are of good quality, but perhaps the spring loading is too high for the likes of the Lunchbox - you'll possibly break components before the servo saver comes into play

I have the #51000 High Torque servo saver in my Lunchbox. Works great. I also centred the output of the servo to the centre of the chassis and used equal length tie-rods to remove bumpsteer.

Got to ask Mark - have you ever had the servo saver actually work - given how difficult it was to get the springs installed on mine last night I can't imagine it will do a lot, I expect a plastic geared servo to be stripped before the saver operated ?

I have a Futaba S9351 servo in it. It's one tough servo, and yes it will make the saver work (hold the wheels and try to steer). The one in the picture was just for getting things fitted up straight (ancient one from the junk box... don't think it even works).

Thats awesome! Can I ask what the part numbers are for the 2x equal length steering rods?

Begs the question does it not - why did it not have the steering in the centre in the first place???

I bought 2 sets of DT02 turnbuckles. Used the short tie-rods on another model and the long tie-rods (with a touch trimmed off each end) on the Lunchbox. It also has the CRP double wishbone front suspension upgrade. Upper link is also from the DT02 turnbuckle set.
