Ok, this thread got me to do a bit of math and check some dates. When I joined this site I'd just picked up a 956 and it made the collection 3 cars at the time, parted out cars add another 12, so 44 with 10 weeks or so before it's a year. I'm not liking the numbers on this bit of reality. It looks too much like one a week.

Ah the first year is the killer, as I reported on my own 'first year' thread. I thought I'd lost interest, but I've bought two in the last three days and I'm on week 2 of my holiday away from home lol!!

Its just a hobby I enjoy, so why shouldn't I have what I want? Although storing them now is becoming a challenge!

You're not kidding about how storing them can be a problem! Especially if you live in a small house with a wife and 2 dogs!

This is another one of those threads I should show to my wife... I'm a lightweight compared to a lot of you guys. Only 15 Tamiya vehicles, 7 Associated, 2 Kyosho, 1 Mardave, 1 Parma, and 1 HPI.

...And all packed away right now except for one Blackfoot and one RC10, as we prepare to put our house up for sale. I'm really looking forward to opening those boxes again in a few months at the new place...

Gulp Indeed but it makes me feel better about the 27 I currently have and the 12 I sold. Still quite worrying that in 23 months I've bought ca 45 models mostly used but the odd new.

My problem is whenever I get a new kit, for some reason I feel I MUST get a 2nd of that kit for backup, spares, whatever, I dunno...

So I have an awful lot of NIB kits that I already have a runner for, and I just don't break my RC's very often, so I don't know if I'll ever use them?

I guess I do feel like I have too many as I just am having a hard time storing them!

Now if I lived in a large house, and had a large room just for my toys, I'd have no problem filling it as full as possible, and I'm sure by then I'd be satisfied. Hahaa....

Back on topic, at least with TC if you're gearing down there is always someone here who is gearing up! It's amazing how many sets of hands some of these cars and NIB kits have been through.

Too many is too much I'm afraid. As soon as you ask yourself that question, the answer is yes otherwise you probably wouldnt be troubled by how many you have. Too many for you and too many for other family members in your household, now that is a tough one. I did learn the shoes rule on here, "one car for every pair of shoes that your wife has" this is keeping me honest for now

Back to topic. Only each individual can answer that question for his/her own. unless one has 10 of each and no money for food / rent / car payments etc, than is too much.

I put this list together so I could kinda go over it and see where I could loose a few either by semi permanent storage or sale. I'm debating the vanning, 18Bs, frog, hotshot,Nikko bike and the JPS. It's a tough decision

Not as bad of a decision as it could have been. The vanning and nikko are never run so they go into semi permanant storage. Nikko into a box and the vanning to the office where most of it was made anyway. The JPS will go with it as desk decorations for a desk I never use. Hotshot goes into temporary storage until winter sets in and it gets run. One of the 18Bs will get waterproofed and go with the winter runners. Now I have room for a couple more
