At least if you change your mind you can get a lot of your money back out.

thats just passing the virus to someone else :)

Thats not nearly enough cars to class yourself as crazy !!

Yea but that's only my tamiyas!

I have boats airplanes helies and tanks and other brand RC cars also that add up way more than my tamiyas alone!

It all started with me when I stumbled upon Tamiyaclub and I saw a Humvee. I own 3 Humvees now and another 17 RC cars, most of them Tamiyas. I have no idea where it ends but the amount of times I've said to myself, just one more...

My friends Tamiya Condition is more advanced, hes got about 60 and counting, i also know he wont come back from Tamiyaclub Nottingham without putting his hands into his wallet, he just wont be able to help hmself. The dude is doomed to an eternity of Tamiya tinkering, big smiles and a matching set of empty walet, bank account and pockets.

Tamiya Anonymous anyone? :D

B) OOOO Missed a RC boat on the shelf silly me!! that brings the RC count up to 52!!

Lucky recently i sold two 1/16 scale tanks and 6 1/24 tanks to get the total down a bit.... but that only led me to buying 4 more kits!!

I have around 80+ cars 9 boats 3 planes and a tank and the wife went crazy when she found out how many I had lol.

I think I have about 25 cars/trucks running, and another 20 or so NIB in my basement. Not to mention about 15 bodysets, and massive amounts of spares for everything.

This is all since 2004.

I think there's a time factor you have to consider. If your 50 and have been into the hobby for 35 years and have 30 cars it seems small but if you started last week and have 30 cars it's kinda different.

That's a tough question. I've got 12 Tamiya models, and for the time and space I have, I think it is too much. I like to see them, clean them, and run them from time to time, but to me I believe it's too much. Funny thing I still think I need a Juggernaut. Isn't that crazy? ;)

I've got about 65 Tamiyas and maybe a dozen or so of other brands, but I've sold a lot in the last year so the count would have been much higher just a few months ago.

Eh, what can you do? Go with it.

We are all Tamiya crazies here. So the size of your collection is really limited to the space you have at home (like your own room, a man cave somewhere in the house / garage / yard ) and depending on one's position at work, the collection could be even larger. If one has a second home, ooh the collection will be out of control.

Time and maybe resources; I only have four cars but they compete directly with tuition, rent and food...

I've got 20 cars and trucks, 7 Kyoshos and 13 Tamiyas, and 1 plane. Here's the problem: I started collecting 2 years ago.... You think your wife is mad??

Ok, this thread got me to do a bit of math and check some dates. When I joined this site I'd just picked up a 956 and it made the collection 3 cars at the time.

The collection is at 32 right now and sales and parted out cars add another 12, so 44 with 10 weeks or so before it's a year. I'm not liking the numbers on this bit of reality. It looks too much like one a week. It looks like I'm loopy but consistant. I'm 49 and started in the hobby at age 15 so all told it's just over 1 car a year for the time I've been into the hobby, the keepers anyway. It's just lopsided in the purchase dates is all

No. That is not crazy. Everyone needs a Juggernaut. After I built mine, it was a week before I stopped pounding my chest like Tarzan.

I joined with a second hand King Cab and a re-re Boomer. Now I've got:

M03 x 2

HPI Switch

HPI Cup Racer

TA01 FRP

TA02

TA03

CC01 Pajero

CC01 Isuzu Mu

Kyosho Optima

Kyosho Optima Mid SE

Jugg2

- and a bunch of Tycos and Radio Shack Off Roaders (one of which is waterproof and Lipo powered)

You can never have too much of a good thing

Last count I did, think I had about 40 tamiyas and a few others (kyosho, thundertiger ect..) and a few spares for most of them. I never intended to get so many, but it just happened. I'd buy one, love it, post it on here then see another one in a showroom that I liked the look of, so tried to get one of those too. A lot of the challenge for me is to buy them for what I want to spend on them, the cheaper the better! A lot of what I own now has been in trades from members on here (so all a bargain!)

I was exactly the same when I was mental about retro-games consoles (read still am!), as my brother and I own around 130+ between us, and if I see one that brings back memories or is too good to miss, thats another one added to my collection.

Its just a hobby I enjoy, so why shouldn't I have what I want? Although storing them now is becoming a challenge!
