Nice!, Are you going boxart with the body? shenlonco.

What are the bonus parts?

Yea going with the box white color but i may put the tire on the back hatch i think it looks better there.

Bonus parts are 8 ball bears...don't know why tamiya just don't give you 2 more and have the full bearing set as a bonus...silly to go out and buy to extra bearings...it would not cost tamiya that much more just to give you the full set!

If they are metal an aluminum cross brace under the 2 fronts side to side will help the chassis from breaking or cracking.

Also, if you are not swapping to oil shocks put 1/4" ful tube or rubber tube pieces on/at the pogo stick shock screw heads to get the front wheels sitting correctly and drop the chassis just a bit. It drives and handles a lot better and smoother with more predictable steering.

It looks like he may have done this all ready?, I think I can see the black rubber under the screw heads.

Thanks guy's :D

Yes i did add the rubber under the front shock screw heads good eye!

also the posts are metal so should i make a brace or go around the posts bottoms with a nice bead of goop glue to make it stronger.

Also if you want your lunch box type chassis to have friction like dampers to stop the bounce instead of buying oil shocks all you need to do is CA glue around the 5mm rubber hose you put under the front shock rods go around it CA gluing it on the chassis now it will work like a friction damper.....Also on the rear you can use another rubber hose section CA glue it to the under side of the chassis where the shock rod goes through the hole in the chassis and now the rear will be friction type suspension also and it should take out alot of that bounce now.

You will have to keep the shock shafts lubed with grease so they run smoothly through the rubber sections.

no, make it cover directly under the posts so it disperses any impact or stresses from crashes or tumbles

:D Just a word to anyone wanting this kit ,,,if you do not like stickers stay away from this kit for sure!

I had no problems but for somebody not good with stickers i see them getting very frustrated with this model..

Here is mine i decided to go with the tire on the rear of the truck it just looked better this way to me.

Looks good man... Your collection is chock full of bouncy classic fun Tamiyas! For some reason in the past year I've gotten all serious about my builds, spent thousands on them... but I still find these fun little kits to be so appealing. Thus I did just get a Sand Rover... and I've been driving my Willy around my backyard a lot, so I know how fun they can be. Have a LB NIB still and haven't played with this chassis yet...

I don't know if you've done an entire collection shot lately, but I know you have quite a bit of fun there to see!

Nice job on the stickers too! (The serious side of me is looking at it going... Hmmm... could add real wipers, antennas, LEDs, interior, driver, etc... but then it just gets so you can't bash with it!)

Cheers,

Skottoman

The car looks good! I am considering the Montero Wheelie for my next car, but thanks for warning about the stickers... Those are not my strong suit!

You should give the spray bottle with some diluted detergent water a try with your next decals. Makes applying the large size decals much easier.

Ensure the body is very clean and free of dust.

Wet down the body where you want to place the decal with the spray bottle.

Apply the decal to the pool of detergent water (this allows you to slide the decal around into position easily and helps prevent air bubbles forming).

Squeegee the water out from under the decal starting from the centre and working outward with a quality paper towel.

Dry everything down with some more paper towel and repeat for the next decal.

Does it have the official sponser from Mitsubishi?, I guess it must have, but I mean does it say so on the box?

At least the Africatours sponsers are believable although probably entirely made up. A Dakar rally decal might have worked on this.

You did great on the decals, do you have a pic of the sheet?, were they pre-cut?

Love your Montero! After seeing the pics of the Lunchbox racing at TC 2012, I had been thinking about getting a Luncbox myself, but now I'm not so sure particularly after seeing the shots of your pajero, and the star turn of JWeston's Monty in the Lunchie racing :D

Baby shampoo is brilliant for this method. I picked this up from doing some window tinting in another life. Tint film or decals, baby shampoo is the slipperyest ;)

Great job Shen, she's a beauty.

I'll give this a go next time. I'd been using Morning Fresh dishwashing liquid for decals (and for applying tint to 1:1 car windows).

Great looking :).

Wat moytor, ESC u will use?

Will u run it or this is a shelfer??

Hi i have the stock esc and i am running a duratrax photon speed 2 twenty turn motor in it... another motor that is a hair slower but has more punch than the duratrax is the ecx 20 turn they use in there stock rc's.

I will run it All though it looks so good i am scared!! LOL!!
