As per the title, has anyone used this on ABS or Lexan shells ?

I've used standard cheap masking tape previously but needs multiple layers to prevent 'wet coat' applications permeating through. I'm hoping this stuff (being 5 times the price) isn't permeable. It claims good paitn edge definition too, although for my initial needs its just a case of sealing the outside of a Twin Detonator shell i'm repainting.

Thanks

I've bought some lower tack 3M Blue and similar Frogtape.

The frogtape has a very similar appearance and hue to the Tamiya stuff.

I'll be using both for masking larger areas rather than its edge retention properties!- nothing worse than covering the outside of a lexan shell with narrow Tamiya tape

Frogtape is excellent. I acquired some for a home painting project and had some left over, while coincidentally running low on Tamiya masking tape (also good). So I tried it on my Avante; the results were not the best but that was more due to my inexperience with painting polycarbonate shells than anything. It worked for both the house and the shell, though.

I would highly recommend it.
