If the Super Champ ever gets re-released I believe we can't expect quite the exact buggy from the early 80's. Myself, I'd love if reasonable-priced replacement bodies come up with the potential re-release, but after seeing what TAMIYA did with the bodies of their most legendary RC models (Sand Scorcher, and Toyota Bruiser) I guess we can expect to have some Super Champ with a lexan body instead. <_<:(

I would say the sellers are worryed & not sure what is going to be re re'd . If alot are comming from japan then a re re is on it's way .

I only say this as the re re bruiser was in the same boat , Japan was getting rid of them so fast & bang re re was comming .

Sellers are getting edgey I think .

I would agree with you on this one. I guess we will have to wait and see.

But I thought the Sand Scorcher and Bruiser had ABS bodies similar to the originals... Though shells like the Celica Gr.5 were given the polycarbonate treatment and dropped on TT-01s. At the worst I would expect a modified Buggy Champ shell in lieu of the original Super Champ body if it ever gets re-released.

I really hope the super champ gets the re-re.. my fave baja looking buggy... its been close to 30yrs so it has to arrive this year  just hope the patented rear suspension stays the same, there has been little intrest in this thread on here....? C'mon any Super Champ lovers out there..? Lets get Mr Tamiya's intrest about this topic or should we start up a Tamiya Super champ re-re appreciation society topic thread to get noticed... surely Tamiya scouts would be veiwing our topics.

The Super Champ was my very first car when i was a kid. I regrettably sold it a few years ago to fund getting into onroad racing after being out of RC for 25 years. After selling it too cheap i realised what they are worth.

After a few years again chasing one to restore i was able to find one at a reasonable $$$ a few months ago. I was able to restore it,to its original glory. (pics of the build in the vintage thread)

I am sure pending $$$$$ that i would get a re re if it came out.

The hardest would be to convince the wife,

"why do you want another of the same car?"

"don't you have enough toys?"

blah blah blah you all know the questions

I can't see a lexan bodied one from the factory. Like the SRB's, the body is a structural brace for the frp chassis.
