Yea they are not the grippeist but they do last long!!

There is less grip on this driveway because it is old and really uneven and bumpy very old and coarse on a smoother surface they grip better but still nothing like a proline tire they slide.

Just dropped a EZ run 3000KV brushless system in this buggy looks like the 3000KV is the limit for this thing on 2S lipo the motor gets over 150Deg so anymore KV and weakening of the motor will start from the excess heat... It got some snap to it now I timed it down to 0 degrees and she hits 25.8MPH perfect speed for this thing.

Don't see how guy's say they run 43 and 49KV ez run motors in this chassis without heat problems I am on road with a 3000KV and it's hotter than what i would like..... and that's running the smallest pinon gear possible guess guy's don't know how to use a digital temp gun so well..

Shenloco, have you tried the DT-02 motor heat sink set? This included a thick aluminium "washer", which acts as a spacer between motor and gearbox, moving the motor outwards to get more fresh air. The heat sink itself is made for sealed can motors (silvercan and Sport Tuned), when using it with brushless motors, you may have to dremel a bit of the heat sink away to avoid getting contact with the power terminals.

The only two stock pinion options are 17T and 19T, but by using a custom motor mount you can go down to 15T.

I tried a 4000kv 8.5 set at 0 timing and punch at 1. End plate heat sink only and had no trouble with temp. 3/4 throttle though is about it. Way too much power for the humble DT02. Into the wind it would just take off. Now much happier with a GT Tuned.

I'm running my DT02MS with a 4600Kv Mamba, offroad on a track and not had any heat issues. 2.16" Star Dish wheels and square block tyres rear. Motor is warm but touchable after a run so well under 65C. I do have the heatsink set on it though, not sure how much this helps. Not going to drag out the thermal probe unless the motor is too hot to touch.

I did do a few onroad runs with it, but with the CC01 wheels/tyres on the rear (I keep my spikes for the dirt). Could easily hold full throttle in a straight line. You do have to be a bit careful applying the power. If it gets traction it will wheelstand or flip over backwards. Only went up and down the road flatout a few times to see what sort of top speed it would have compared to the son's Dirt Tuned 27T brushed Sand Viper. Not enough onroad to get it warm.

Hi what plate will let you use a smaller pinion gear?

TA-Mark yes i can touch my motor also and if i did not have a digital temp gun i would think it was ok but with the temp gun it reads 156 degrees would like to stay around 150 deg but i guess it's in range ...but if i was to use this combo and go off road then i know the motor would really get much hotter...you can't tell from touching the motor you need a temp gun what you think is not hot most probably is and you are messing up your motor by the heat once you get to about the temp i am at now a little higher and the motors rotor magnet gets weaker and weaker from the heat.

I have the 9T 4300kv ezrun in my Sand Rover, the motor never gets warm, running on 2s lipo. I will get a video up for you. The only problem I have with it is I keep on crashing. the shell has taken a right beating. lol.

The Holiday Buggy 2010 body contributes to launch. The front guards get enough air under them at speed and your airborne.

How good is the Dirt Tuned motor? When I got into the hobby last year, I thought all 27T motors would be weak. But I changed my mind when I got hands on a GM Racing Pinnacle Brilliant 27T motor. Which is fast, has good torque (22.000 RPM under load and 140W output) and keeps temperatures at a reasonable level even when I put Stadium Truck tires on the Sand Viper and go through grass.
