Hi,

I have been reading posts for a while but when I came across BromW's 4x4x4 Blackfoot I had to join..

I use to have a Clod Buster when they first released, but sold it in the 90s and thought I was done with RC

Well, this year I bought my son a Dual Hunter, he and I built it together and he is beginning to enjoy it. the only hop ups on it are Oil Dampers and Full Ball Bearings. He has some LEDs we need to install:

After I bought his Dual Hunter I bought a used Blackfoot Extreme on eBay, it was purple and pink, I stripped the paint on the body, primed it and sold the body. I purchased a Clodbuster body which fits the wheelbase better.. I still need to add lights to the front and the rollbar but I have done quite a few changes:

Mods on my BFX:

-Tamiya Black Can 540s

-Traxxas XL5 ESC

-added front transmission for 4wd

-Oil Dampers

-Full Ball Bearings

-Clodbuster Body

here is my truck:

I would love to put some bigger wheels/tires on it, but for now it is a lot of fun

You have bitten into the forbidden fruit. There is no leaving the second time around.

Lol!

Giving the wife your wallet is a cheaper option than Tamiya Club - welcome to the madhouse :D

The problem with Tamiya club is you think you've already got it bad and probably have too many cars. Then you find there's loads of us out there with WAY more cars, spares and related gubbins filling up their homes than you, so you don't feel so bad and decide to go browse eBay with your credit card in hand!

This forum is a bad, bad place... but I love it! :)

Welcome to the club.

I am hoping to be able to control myself.. If my son really gets into it then it will be harder to, if he does not get into it then I might be ok. but we will see

thanks all

both my son and daughter are into it now, if only I could get my wife involved(or even the slightest bit interested) then I'd be a happy man, poorer but happy.

Yeah my Daughter is liking it, probably because her brother has a car.

I rebuilt my 25 year old Monogram Thunder with some leftover bits and classic Trinity Motor.. it is fun to drive

So true! I've joined TC one year ago and now I own 10 R/C cars. And one half of them is still not finished in building or painting.

When I started the hobby, I thought "1 car will be sufficient". Then there were two, then three...

TC members are like the Discovery show "19 kids and counting" except is 19 or 190 rc and counting.

I finally understand why we boys, guys, men and some ladies like RC especailly Tamiya stuff... Is the engineering, the craftmanship and the creativity.

I am a old guy and an old member at TC. Sure my interest in RC is not as "strong", like everything else with me  . But every so often, some dude at TC will make something that just creat that spark and kick starts my interest all over again.

I can thin out my small collection, but is hard because they are like your kids and one just don't sell one's children. :(

Currently, I just need 1 more RC to my collection and Tamiya hasn't re-release it.

We will see how it goes.. As a kid I always wanted a Bruiser, still maybe someday..

This RC hobby is only one of a few hobbies I have.. so money gets split between them sometimes
