I found this whilst searching google, posted on another forum many years ago. I'm pretty ceratin this doesn't feature on the main TC site in the articles section so perhaps a moderator might like to add the detal there too ?

The Article is from the September 1992 edition of Radio Controlled Model Cars (it has the Tamiya Williams FW14 and Nigel Mansell on the front cover)...

Wow, thanks so much, I've never seen that one and I'm all over the TF/E stuff.

@94eg! - I have too many to count... ;)

Edit: OMG I want those parts! I'm beside myself knowing they were actually commercially available at the time... Argh. I want the white bits (check out the suspension) and that anti-squat is a lust-worthy fix for a common problem at the time we raced them (we made torsion bars to prop the rear up ourselves, their solution is much better of course). Front castor is interesting, I think TA02 knuckles and aluminium c-hubs achieve the same? And I want that front bumper.

I want these bits, did I already say that?

When you think you read up on just about everything on the subject... more possibilities!

I think I "accidentally" did the castor mod by using (adapted) CC-01 hubs though. Haha.

Great article, thanks for posting it!

So did this take place before or after the 411X?

They both happened in 1992. I suspect this one evolved from the TFE as the 411 was being designed (mashed together?). It seems to me that a modified Evo would be a better bet than a 411 anyway.

Hey I posted this on oople a few months ago ;)

I'd had the magazine in a draw for years and recently got back into rc racing. This was one of my favourite looking cars back in the day, especially with the McLaren style Marlboro paint work. I ran a Schumacher Procat in Williams colours which I've been rebuilding and modernising. One day I'd love to build a replica of the team top force, if anyone wants a copy of the actual scans in PDF form which are a little clearer let me know and I can email them ( and no I won't be parting with the magazine).

Thanks

Darren

If you don't mind, I'd appreciate a copy.

My TC username at gmail dot com will get to me - thank you.
