Cross Country chassis.

Hi all, I was paging thru one of my guide books and noticed a difference in the cross country chassis. The Pajero(132) chassis front wheel wells are rounded out while the others (141,152,etc.) of similar chassis have a small indent. Anybody know if there is a reason for this? (I have pics, but not familiar with how to post them.) I also have pics of what maybe the next CC chassis was suppose to look like. Thanx..

I think it is because the Wrangler body's front fenders need that space.

Hi all,

the next gen. CC has been discovered. I gues some of you already know this model. Luis (shark364) has sent me two pictures, unfortunately they are very small. I saw this model at the Tamiya Japan page long ago. This model is a feasibility study made by Tamiya engineers. We already were wondering about the sense of this mockup. Was it made to seal the chassis? Well one guy assumed a jet powered off road vehicle. I would rather stay with the first assumption. Tamiya seems to go with a chinese wisdom that says:" The ideas of ten people are worth more than the knowledge of one". Following this spirit, Tamiya is often holding contests in their house, where employees can think out weird vehicles. Just look at it, and smile about the Tupperware-like lid:

I am often sad that I never loaded down the better pictures that were available at that time. For me it is always difficult to track this model back at the Tamiya Japan site. If anyone has better pics just drop us a line.

Its another of the Kaizou gag/show cars from Tamiya, sweet ideas but propably will never go into production
