WR-01 series would be easy enough if you could fabricate a chassis . 6x6x6 could be done

Biggus made a cracking truck from TLT axles, although they might be a bit harder to get hold of now and probably won't allow the fitting of Clod wheels

Say you linked up two lunchbox axles and moved the whole axle to turn the wheels from a central pivot point.

would this work?, in my limited brain capacity it sounds like it might but there must be a really simple explanation why nobody does it. lol. Like it doesn't work or it's really inefficient?

If someone does answer this, can you answer in a way that an *idiot (*that's me, lol) will understand.

Might be an easy way to make a lunchbox 4x4x4??.

If you articulate (steer) the chassis, you gotta articulate the body shell too - would work ok for a separate cab and pickup bed maybe

Steering a Lunchbox rear axle (at the front or back) would be a bit of a nightmare, as the shocks are mounted to the chassis, and you want the whole axle to steer, so the shocks would do all sortsa weird stuff

I'd say it was pretty much unworkable without an articulated chassis

Sweet - be easy enough to do it 6 wheel steer too ?

You could make a WR-01 6x6x6 easy enough, but I'm not sure of the benefits of 6 wheel steering

If you mirrored the front and rear ends, then the middles wouldn't need to steer

Mine was 4WS up front as the intention was to make a Stalwart, then I lost interest

Thanks TWINSET, I understand what you are saying, so it would have to be a custom chassis with shock mounts or a centre pivot like a bendy bus? although it will be easier using the WR-01 axles or the clod axles.

Yup, just like a bendy bus

WR-01 would be the simplest axles to use as the suspension is part of the gearbox - 2 sideplates and you're good to go.

Clods etc are more complex as you have links and shock mounts to sort out

Yeah, it woulda been a good project, but funds didn't allow me to finish it

After a Twin Det and a Blackfoot Extreme, 2 high torque servos (at least) and three ESCs were way past my budget.

This would make an impressive 6x6 model. It's a tigercat grapple skidder. 6x6, walking beam rear suspension, articulated chassis so no complicated steering required on the axles. Would be even better with a controllable grapple and logging blade. Would be great made using txt-1 axles and jugg / clod wheels & tyres

My 6x6 log truck with trailer. has a modified 3 speed gearbox from a king hauler and uses hi-lift axles with walking beam rear suspension.

Cross me off that list then,lol. Though considering the work that went into it and the time spent, I can easily believe that it would cost that to produce, and with the bruiser retailing at £800 here in the U.K your price isn't so shocking. Unless you were talking Japanese yen, in which case I will take 2. lol.

Is the WR-02 gearbox the same one they use in the twin motor monster trucks?

Just different knuckles?

The WR-02 gearbox is the same as an -01, but the -02 (Wild Willy 2, VW Bus etc) has shorter suspension arms.

Also, the WR-02 front end is only 2WD so making a 6x6 out of WR-02 parts would involve new uprights and knuckles for the steering bits
