monkeyra 0 Posted December 18, 2012 I've got an old TA01 (was originally an Escort Cossie) that's currently got a Mondeo shell on it. This is looking tatty and I want a new one, also give me something to do over Christmas. What type of shells these days would fit? Ideally I'd like to keep to the Touring Car theme, but am open to suggestions
taliesin 260 Posted December 19, 2012 Just about any 190mm shell would work. Most of the Tamiya body shells for touring cars will fit right on - many have pre-drilled holes that will be a direct fit. If not, you could make them work by drilling a new set and judicious application of small tasteful decals. The holes are the same for many TT-01/TL-01/TA-01/TA-02 touring cars. The ones that seem to be a bit different are TB-02 and some of the TA-03/4 but maybe someone could give more specific info. I switch body shells all the time between those models listed above with no problems and no drilling.
monkeyra 0 Posted December 19, 2012 Brill, thanks. The size 190mm is useful as that seems to be how they are listed. Thanks for your help.
motocrosser 1 Posted December 19, 2012 Be sure wheelbase is 257mm.
mr crispy 2293 Posted December 20, 2012 TB01 rally bodies should be a straight swap as well, their post holes match up with TL01s etc mentioned above.
redzone 212 Posted December 20, 2012 Ta03 are the same as long as they are not the short wheelbase versions
