Finish all my restoration projects instead of (or before?) buying any more.

Projects =

Boomerang (needs body) DONE

Wild One (needs body)

Bruiser (needs body)

Nitro USA-1 (needs body painting and engine mounts made)

EP USA-1 (needs body)

Clod Buster (need to replace destroyed body) ALL READY BUT STILL TO DO

Clod Axle Monster truck (Currently just axles and tyres, need chassis/motors/esc/body) HAS BULLHEAD RUNNING GEAR, CURRENTLY SORTING AFTERMARKET CHASSIS

Also would (still) really like to get a Juggernaut 1 or 2, and would love to build a tank of some description (maybe king tiger/kV2 ...or even 2A6). FOUND JUGGERNAUT THANKS TO ANDERSOP STILL TO GET TANK

I can think of one more project for you this year Berman :D Well done Mate and well deserved.

4. Build a 4WD Brumby from TA02 and DF01 parts with a polycarbonate Brat shell. Colour blue.

Haha cool, sorry I didnt see your post earlier, but I am wondering if you were referring to the hilux? Thats been put away for the future ;)

Your brumby sounds fun! :) Look forward to seeing that!

The Mrs. will be away in mid July... HaHaHa. Thays all i have to say...But the Twin Hammer is not available here and the rc10 is not out yet. So why am are laughing:-(

Hey Berman, I was alluding to the Hilux and well done once again Mate. You really nailed that one.

The Brumby has been slow as, due to me getting stooged on a bad deal. I've bought nearly a whole car in parts now though and the chassis is done. Just need to find a front bumper for it and paint up the body. I've been getting lots of pics so a good 4WD Brat thread is on the way.

Posted

Here is a preview for anyone interested.

It has the TA01 front bumper but I want to fit another bumper onto that, so that it protrudes and protects the shell. The TA01 bumper has a couple of suitable mounting holes that are 60mm apart. Can anyone suggest a front bumper that would have matching holes 60mm apart ?

The original Frog/Brat/Hornet front bumper would be ideal but I don't have one to measure up the mounting holes. Any help greatly appreciated !

Brat/Frog is 71mm screw centre to screw centre

Thanks Mate. That rules that out (pun alert).

What about Lunchbox front bumper ? Can anyone help with a 59mm or 60mm mounted front bumper suggestion ?

My plans are quite simple;

1. Finish my FAV project

2. Attend TC 2013 meet and do some shopping

3. Start my Rough Rider resto with shopping purchased under point 2

4. Find more members for the Rough Rider Buggy Champ Sig

5.Create a half decent avatar for my main page

Half way through the year and things are looking good;

1. Finished and a big tick in the box :D

just under 6 months to go, and..

time to give up on my original list i think :(

Boomerang, Super Sabre, Twin Detonator and Bear Hawk all done and departed :D

Egress and Vajra completed :D :D

Associated B4 almost rebuilt - will sell this one shortly -_-

Associated RC10 Team Car - in the project rebuild queue, but the new shell should be back from the painters this week

Optima Mid LWB - should have this sorted this month

Optima Mid SWB - again, hope to have this sorted this month (last lot of parts on their way)

Which leaves..

SuperChamp strip and rebuild

F103 to paint and decal - maybe this month

Kyosho Progress restoration

Kyosho Optima strip and rebuild

MadCap and RC10T3 still at my mates

Oh and another Manta Ray to build from mainly new parts, which should be a nice, easy (could almost build these blind folded now) evening project for the next couple of weeks.

So short term focus is on Optima Mid (2), Manta Ray build and only then the RC10Team and F103

Finally got a 1/8 size, 4 on the floor, 100% weathered proof, amazing climber and great at doing jumps. Will be a ball of fun and laughs....I am getting a CAT! The meow type. RC wise ...if and when rc4wd gelande 2 d90 is available and s/b it for 2013 for me..unless the blazer is re release. That could be never or play the waiting game again.

Somehow another project has made its way onto my list. Since I already have a DF-02 in my fleet, and I have a Hotshot on the way next month, I thought I should fill the timeline gap between the two and build a TL-01B Baja King. Today I took delivery of a "TL-01B" roller/donor car, and hopefully the rest of the parts required for the chassis will arrive from Time Tunnel Models early next week.

I have also become quite keen on the idea of expanding my 4WD buggy collection further, and adding a TT-02B to the fleet. However I think I'll wait until later in the year for that, once a few hop-ups have been released for the chassis. I might put it on my Christmas list, and build it on Boxing Day.

So, before the end of the year, I now plan on building:

Hotshot

TL-01B

Rising Fighter x 2 (for my mate's partner and kid)

TT-02B

Should keep me amused for a while... :)

Contemplating one of those Ken Block Traxxas Fiestas HPI Ken Block Fiestas as my first foray into the brushless world. Those 1:1 Gymkhana videos are flipping ridiculous.

Done.

So short term focus is on Optima Mid (2), Manta Ray build and only then the RC10Team and F103

Some good progress in the last 3 weeks..

Associated B4 - rebuilt, test run and sold :D

Manta Ray -Waiting on a new chassis tub, but front and back units are assembled - in theory a quick finish on this one once the tub arrives

LWB Opti Mid is now sat with its body, undercowl, wing and decals on - a bit of fettling to the electrics to finalise

SWB Opti Mid is sat with wing, undercowl and body - just decals to do

Victor101s sale thread meant i got a CLK-DTM bodyset to sit atop a TL-01 chassis (that was the Bowler Wildcat project) - thats cut, painted and 95% decaled now which given this wasn't on the work list is a bonus

Another RC10 Team Car chassis has arrived, so next week I should start breaking down the RC10s.

F103 is constantly falling down the project list

So far this year the collection has gone through some changes. When the total got up to 55 it made me reevaluate the whole thing. I got back into the hobby with 2 cars and it's snowballed from there. When I had fewer cars I think I enjoyed it more, then it got so I was loosing track of where they were all stashed away. The total right now is 36 and that's still a few too many but I can see them all and know what's up with each one again (without using a cheat sheet). I may trade some in the future but I'll try harder to keep the numbers down and enjoy them more. I hope to have them all running again sometime soon but that's pretty difficult.

Along with the cars that have left, I've got the parts somewhat under control again. All the cardboard boxes full and a bunch of totes have all been sorted for things I'd actually use.

I keep saying to myself that I am going to do a police car R\C but its one of those things I keep not getting round to!

I am thinking of getting a drift car so maybe I can incorporate the two and make a drift police car. If I get it done this year still remains to be seen!

My 4WD rally Brat updated today with paint.

Brat100813003Medium_zps24d5e372.jpg

Nice , But not too sure on them rim's :( .. I don't think it fit's the Brat , But it is late & i may not bee seeing straight :D..

I'm not too sure about the wheels either but these are the only off-roaders I have that fit right now. Truck or buggy wheels / tyres are too big and foul on the body.

Now all stickered up but not quite finished.

Thommo I actually like those wheels . It gives the Brat a bit of a modern twist and adds a sporty look IMO. They might look even better painted gold ?

Nice project Thommo

I'm not sure its your choice of wheels at fault, its simply the additional track width of the chassis compared to what we all see as a Brat. Perhaps a plainer wheel like these..

might help ?

But it'll make a great little runner and I bet it look great blasting down a dirt track ;)

As to my plans, I've decided to rip up my original list :(

Fellow TC members...just a shade over 2 months to go before 2013 comes to an end.

Are you behind, on track or ahead?

So far i am ahead since i did not have a rc plan for 2013. Got what i wanted so far less 1 that i am considering, which is the axial scx10 jeep.I know what i have now will not last forever as situation changes and i could have even more or none at all subject to health and financial situation..

I think i have enough to get on with, but i still watch eBay daily - radious controlllous virus

Against my original list of 8 items at the top of page 1 I've only managed about 3 of the 8 items, and failed miserably on the 'not buy any more cars' statement; if i'd not had so many cars come and go in the year I'd have had that list sorted :D
